Default Serial killers? You think quite lowly of Texans!

Define socialist here for us ... what YOU think a socialist is. Then I will match his stands and record against that. It is OK to use the dictionary definition too.

This is an exercise in thinking and reasoning and maybe even learning for some ... not just "feel good" or "hate Republicans" thinking. If you are serious and not just trolling maybe you'll participate.

I am registered with no party and I have studied the candidates and their proposed platforms and past records.

Here's a nice quote:

"Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has not heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains." -Sir Winston Churchill.

Well universal health care is the first that comes to mind.

I, for one, believe that our country should provide minimal health care to everyone. It could be a two-tiered system with those who want private care buying either additional insurance or going to private providers. We can't afford Medicare type insurance for everyone, but people who need care should be able to get some kind of care. And don't argue that we have care for those who need it. I am too aware after being a principal in a public school that sometimes people cannot get any kind of care if they do not have money or insurance.

Problem being, as with most programs managed by the government it will become bloated and corrupted over time to where it just becomes another albotrass tax hanging over our heads. It will benefit the hospitals, healthcare givers enrolled in the program and the few skillfull who are oh .... ever so good at draining for all its worth any freebie that comes along. The rest of us will be footing the bill with not enough money left over to even buy over the counter medicine for ourselves. Some people even have the silly notion that it's free. I heard a commercial for Hillery back when she was still in the running with several ordinary people saying oh vote for Hillery, she's going to see to it that everyone has free health care. Nothing is free, someone's paying for it, and you can bet those fat cats in Washington aren't going to cut back on their salaries to help pitch in and foot the bill.

I agree they should be able to come up with a solution that will work. Maybe the government could come up with a program to sponsor young people who want to go into the health care with the incentative that after they start practicing, they are required to donate so many free hours of health service. People still pay for appointments, their medicine, etc., but at a reasonable rate and this money could go towards hosptial/clinic costs, into the fund to educate doctors, etc. I think this could be accomplished and the health care professionals would stil make exceptional good money. The fact you do pay to see a doctor, etc. will cut down on those who just because it is free will run to the emergency room with a hang nail etc. and if it is affordable and available, it will certainly put the hurt on the medical profession trying to maintain the rates they are charging now. I am one of competitions hardiest supporters. Supplement the doctors/nurses, etc. who hve already had to pay out the yang-yang for their diplomas until it eventually become a more equal playing field. So, start cutting cost at the beginning and let this filter on down the system. I am a firm believer you need to pay for what you get, but I'm not into highway robbery, nor do I want to pay for Joe Blow over there because he has no money, yet drives a better car than me, eats out every week or so, takes yearly vacations, etc. If he can do that, he needs to pay his own way which includes health care among other things, I don't need to help furnish it for him. Eventually, this might work into a successful program. I really don't know, I just know someone a lot smarter than me should be able to come up with some solutions that could work.

James, since you are a principal you are probably all too aware of some of the government offered programs. One such program which comes to mind is the free/reduced lunch/breakfast program that is offered to low income familaries. While this helps many people I'm sure, the fact is you would be shocked at the number of people who have learned to take advantage of this. They are knocking down boo koos of money, live in better homes, drive better cars than most of us and yet, still feel the need to sponge off the government and that means you and me brother. I will add to this and might step on some toes here, but people need to take responsiblity for themselves. If you and your spouse are having trouble supporting yourselves, then wait before starting a family. Cut back and sacrifice until you save up some money. Don't take that vacation just because you have the money to now, think ahead. If you are making it ok, but know it was going to be really hard with adding a second child, wait just a bit, save up some money. For God's sake, be responsible, you are no longer a child yourself that has to be taken care of, much less, taken care of by people who don't even know you. I think one of the main things wrong with this country today, is people thinking someone owes them something. They think they can live well over their means, go, blow, have a good time, spend their money on fun things, then when their bills have piled up sky high, their big fancy home is being foreclosed on, they start squealing like pigs under a gate, waiting for someone to come bail them out. I'm sorry, I just have no use whatsoever for this mentality.

I was principal in a low socioeconomic school. I agree there are people who take advantage of the system. But I saw many hard working people making minimum wage on two or more jobs who simply could not survive on their incomes. They often just barely made it, and a medical problem would put them over the edge. I won't go into politics here, for I have feelings about employers taking advantage by underpaying people etc., but I think there should be care for people who are working hard and not taking advantage of the system. Slackers who don't work--I have no feelings that we should provide for them.

Default Obama 08

I've read many of the opinions toward this subject and I hear a lot of Mccain supporters and it seems as though many are against Obama. I actually don't care about the political aspect of this election because I think it matters who is in office....politics is politics and all candidates will say whatever they have to say to get elected.

However, what I wan't to emphasize is the chance for my people(black people) to make history. The thought of the first black president gets me excited. I don't care what anyone says about voting for Obama because he is black. Hell yeah, I am gonna vote for Obama because he is black, as much as my people have been oppressed, discriminated against, hated, and just the pure racism that we have to endure every single day. I don't care about pulling the race card because thats what this election is about, RACE. People are not ready for a black president and many of you who are voting for Mccain need to admit it. Those of you who are democrats but were for Hillary and now you have changed because Obama is the democratic candidate, lets face it, that is bull and you all are traders.

This election is about race and people are scared about a black man being president but we will choose a white man who is a weak candidate and will run this country further into the ground by supporting many of the bush policies. You people obviously have not been effected by gas prices, the current recession we are in, a horrible economy, a war that is taking an astronomical amount of money to support, the way hurricane katrina was handled, and a president who is as ignorant about the problems certain americans are facing and as out of sync with the american people like never before, thats what George Bush represents and that is what John Mccain represents. But lets face it....you people would rather see a white man in office than a black man and regardless of what any body says thats what this is about.

Don't tell me about politics this election is not about politics its about race and you all know that and I've said it several times in this message and I will say it again. Those of you who are voting for Mccain and saying that you don't think he will do a good job either but you're going to vote for him because you don't trust Obama....you people are clearly contradicting yourself and might as well admit you would rather vote for a white man than a black man.

In conclusion, I don't care how many people respond to this message. I don't care how many people are offended by it and feel a need to reply. My mind is made up and will not change, you will only be wasting your time. I am being real and honest...this election is about race. There is two things I'm certain of come November.....1. we will definitely have a new president.....2. He will be black. Deal with it.
