Default Is Texas Super Highway Still On ??

Just wondering what ever happened to the Super Highway that Gov Perry wanted to build at a cost of 10 billion ??? I think from Laredo to Dallas or Wichita Falls?? Did they break ground yet or did the Legislature stop it??

Not though Oklahoma. So if Texas still does it, it will have to stop at the state line.

It has been the scene of a lot of controversy... so I would like to know as well.. and with gas prices like they are we should spend more on that super rail and less on the highway.

Good question. Will TTC-35 still be built?? I don't know. I did hear a rumor that it was stalled, but I'm not real sure. I did also hear that if another governor takes office, the project will not happen. Now I do believe that I-69 will get built in East and South Texas, but what I don't know right now is the exact timetable.

Texas Legislature Takes on the NAFTA Superhighway | The John Birch Society - Truth, Leadership, Freedom (broken link)

Looks like it has been stalled.

I dont feel like reading all the propaganda Rick Perry wants to spiel here.. But you may find some answers..

Texas Governor Rick Perry - Trans Texas Corridor Fact Sheet

I hope it is stopped personally..

Here is a PDF I may need to read..

http://www.kcsmartport.com/pdf/SmtPrtOneRoute.pdf

Here is a nice map of where the current Interstates are, and where the Super Highway will go.

I just prefer traditional interstates. You can always route goods to other places if you have another corridor built. The problem with Trans-Texas was just an issue of space, so much of it, and for three different things. It was just too extravagant.

This was in Corpus Christi's local newspaper today on the front page. The first phase is about to begin, improving U.S. Highway 77 to the first part of I-69:

Region to see work on I-69 : Corpus Christi Local | Caller-Times |

Here is another interesting proposal for the city's future as well:

LULAC suggests passenger rail : Corpus Christi Local | Caller-Times |

Will Corpus Christi have passenger rail in store for the future? Its still in the early stages, but I think it would benefit the region greatly!

I hope Corpus goes with the rail system... please don't allow them to hold your city back no more.. The powers that be in Corpus that is. They have squandered your opportunities long enough and snuffed out any good growth for you far too long.

But 130 also stands on its own, just as other roads that might be coopted into the Trans Texas Corridor do whether or not the TTC ever exists.
