My brother in law is going to Mexico and needs a passport. His mom and dad were born in mexico and he was born in Muleshoe Texas. The mom used a midwife who recently was arrested for falsifying birth certificates and they are telling him they will not accept his birth certificate to establish his identity. His option was to prove that his brother/my husband was enrolled in school in 1975- which he was in kindergarten and my brother in law was born in 1976. Muleshoe school district no longer has any records dated back to 1975. They are all now registered aliens with social security numbers and have been for 20+ years but not back in 1975. Anyone have any idea how to help? Or where to get any records from Muleshoe Texas? I would appreciate ANY information. Thank you

Did you contact the office of the County Clerk in Bailey County? Someone in her office should be able to advise you.

There might be a possibility of getting sworn affidavits from citizens who knew you when you were very young? The reason I'm suggesting it is that when i applied for state help with my Medicare premium there were affidavit forms and instructions in the packet they sent me for folks who couldn't prove citizenship by having the requested documents. I don't have this info anymore since I didn't need them and threw them away but if the state permits this, then maybe it's possible for a passport, too. Call the passport office and inquire.
