No one called it a mecca. People aren't flocking here here for no reason. I just knew when I made that comment it would be taken way out of context.

The only people flocking to that hole are military personnel. That's it. Nobody in their right mind would say let's move to Killeen for the hell of it. It certainly isn't fun or jobs.

It just a little moniker that the kids use. It used to apply much more years ago when living here was actually fun. But its still that little island of black in a predominantly white and hispanic region. Not to mention a lot of people here are from Georgia

Don't take stuff so seriously. But asking someone on this website not to take stuff seriously is like askin the sun not to shine. Y'all need hobbies (lol)

I lived in Killeen for several years (my parents are still in the city) and I've NEVER heard it called "Mini Atlanta". I never got the sense that one race was more prominent than the others. There was (and still is) a pretty good mix.

Are you asking me not to discuss things on a discussion board? LOL. OK, that makes perfect sense.

What does this mean then? What reasons other than military are people flocking to Killeen for?

I've only heard the young people call it Little Atlanta, not the older residents.

Who the hell has called Killeen a Little Atlanta??? As far as in being in a predominately white/Hispanic region. Not really considering that part of Central Texas has a sizable black population.
