Hood, Killeen would be no larger than Gatesville. I do agree that Waco is sprawled out, but the city is working to change all of that.
I was actually being sarcastic. Just hard to display it on here. . That's why my message was so short. However, I do think Killeen is a bit more faster in pace due to the fact that more people are from other places are here and it's more diverse (not being sarcastic on that). Most of the people in Killeen are not from Killeen and most are from bigger cities around the country so they bring their lifestyle with them.

But IMO, Waco is also one big suburb to me. But than I again, I am a fan of urban cities and that could for any city in Texas including Houston and Dallas and especially San Antonio. However, Killeen does have a growing education industry. CTC is growing and UCT may become another A&M campus in the very very near future. It also has a bigger and faster growing airport. Killeen also has plans to improve it's downtown area. Renderings have yet to be released though.

Waco is not built like a suburb, I'm not sure what your definition of suburban is, but imo Waco is not. Lots of trees and old neighborhoods. You can definatly feel and tell the difference between Waco and Killeen.

Waco is suburban. Let's not act like it's not. It isn't nearly urban for one. There is a different feel true. But there are different feels in every city big or small. The majority of Waco's built environment came after WW2. Large Malls, big box stores, big parking lots, little mass transit, gated neighborhoods, chain restaurants are what define Waco, Temple, Killeen, and most all of the largest CenTex towns. Those are the definition of suburban. Waco's density level is equal to that of a typical suburb around large cities.

Yeah we obviously have different views on what suburban is.btw, Gated neighborhoods are very rare in Waco and we have LOTS of local/moms and pops resturantes. Just like any city ,chain resturants just overshadow those.

I've lived in all 3 cities. If it wasn't for Ft Hood and 190, Killeen would be nothing. There is a lot odf crime in all 3 cities. Waco needs help, but is growing, especially out toward Robinson. Temple......well who knows, theres been construction here for years. I need to get out of this area, none of the towns have that friendly of a feel, unless youre baptist.

what is your view? Oh and your last point proves my point in that it is suburban. Keep in mind that there is nothing wrong with that either. It's just a preference.

You have your chain resturantes right off the highway but once you drive around the city you have lots of cool local places. Like Lee's, Elite Cafe, Health Camp, Happy Wok, DJ's Chicken, Jasper's, Tony Romo's,etc.

I'm not saying anything is wrong with a city being suburban, but Waco imo isn't suburban. Waco has a heads up on Killeen because of it's attractions and history, that is something you can't deny.

Killeen can say the same thing honestly. Once you get off of 190, you get the mom and pop places.Waco isn't rural nor is it close to being urban. It's built environment is suburban.
