Just as long as there is room for clays, count me in. Never got the CASS appeal. Especially after it turned into squib loaded .44-40's and .45 Colts.
Thankfully the DRSS never garnered such mass appeal as CASS did. I'd hate to see muzzle velocities of 900fps out of .450 3 1/4's or .404 Jeffery's.

deviled eggs--I do them pretty well--sometimes even add some nice bacon--so that you get a bacon-and-egg snack
and potato salad--do that pretty well too--make the mayo kind with a little mustard
and like to use red skin potatoes at times
go the whole hog---celery/green and red onions/dill pickles/hard-boiled egges/black olives/pimentos----tasty

Potato salad is like religion....every family has their own (ditto CFS, fried chicken, meat loaf).
Our potato salad is always cubed (never mashed) potatoes...Miracle Whip, mustard, equal number of boiled potatoes/eggs...pimientos, sweet pickles, onion, salt/pepper.
I've varied mine with unpeeled new potatoes...!

You're so right about every family having their own...My husband likes the recipe my ex-stepmom gave me after we had our daughter. Cubed potatoes, mayo, mustard, pimientos, dill pickles, a little onion, and capers and salt and pepper.

Belle, when we all finish eating, hon, we're going to need some serious dance music so we (perhaps, I? ) can work off all the calories we're going to be taking in.

*grins* Here is my initial suggestion of where we might hold this potential reunion:
Confederate Reunion Grounds
Yeah, ok...y'all don't give me a hard time about it being the Confederate Reunion Grounds. Sure, I am whistling Dixie right now, but there there really ARE good reasons for suggesting it.
For one thing, not a bad location in terms of central location. And for SURE the history. And a pavillion which has plenty of tables which contains, room to dance to good Texas music later.
Continuing this progression of thought, it DOES spark the question of who will bring the sound system and CD's to play...?
I will leave THAT one open ended. course.
BUT...I bet we might all agree that, before we dig in, that we all stand, place hands over hearts and joining in singing:
Texas, Our Texas! all hail the mighty State!
Texas, Our Texas! so wonderful so great!
Boldest and grandest, withstanding ev'ry test
O Empire wide and glorious, you stand supremely blest.
Chorus:
God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong,
That you may grow in power and worth, throughout the ages long.
Texas, O Texas! your freeborn single star,
Sends out its radiance to nations near and far,
Emblem of Freedom! it set our hearts aglow,
With thoughts of San Jacinto and glorious Alamo.
Chorus:
Texas, dear Texas! from tyrant grip now free,
Shines forth in splendor, your star of destiny!
Mother of heroes, we come your children true,
Proclaiming our allegiance, our faith, our love for you.
*wiping a bit of mist from my eyes*

Shouldn't it be more centrally located, Reb?
Not that I would complain about Mexia. It is right down the road from Kosse where my relatives originally settled in Texas at and if it was held there it would give me a chance to pay respects at cemetaries.
However, I think that someone driving from El Paso or Panhandle, or the Valley would be in for a very long (and potentially expensive) trip.
The official center of the state is Brady (or just outside of Brady.) I do not know who all would come to a get together, but if there are some from the Panhandle and West Texas that are coming, The ride to Brady might be more appealing than Mexia.
Just my two cents, and it really doesn't matter to me where ya'll choose to have it. If I am welcomed to attend and have the time, I'd gladly go to just about any place ya'll decide on.
Edit - Here and here are a couple of public parks that are more centrally located. Both of them are are in San Saba, and it says that they both have pavilions on them.

Yeah, y'all are right about a more central location...it was just I couldn't resist posting the link to the "Confederate Reunion Grounds". It was more joking around than truly proposing it as a location!
