Texas will never be like California just because there are Californians living here. Texas will always be Texas, so let it be just that.

Us Californians do have a lot of pride for our state, but we just have a different way of displaying it

Its true.... Texas and California are practically brothers.
Yep, you are right there are a lot of similar aspects to Texas and California. We lived in California most all our life since 1947 and went to school, college and started a corporation there. In 2000 we were looking for a place to retire and stopped by New Braunfels Texas after driving from Florida and stopping in several other locations. New Braunfels hit the top of the list. Having done business in Texas I was aware of the warm neighborhood feelings possible but when I stopped at the local sac n pac and a guy opend the door for me when I was carrying out two drinks and said "Hi buddy" I knew I was home. We built at a price that we could never find in Ca. and in a neighborhood that had all the right CC&R to make sure it would remain pristine and a good place to live. Plenty of land--actually too much now that I'm retired a few years and going to "downsize" Riverchase here is growing into a very affluent neighborhood and will become one of the nicest places to be--close to San antonio and Austin there is. With a HOA 58 acre park, Tennis courts, pool and great clubhopuse--all for $65/yr it was hard to believe. But now, alas, we have to downsize because of health. take a look at our camelot at New Braunfels, Texas Homes For Sale By Owner (FSBO) #201576 at InfoTube.net

Really Texas has no forest or Mountains that's news to me.
No Texas does have mountains and forest but they are on opposite sides of the state. The forest are towards the east and the mountains are towards the west. Kinda like the forest of North Cali and the deserts/mountains of SoCal. though Cali's mountains are much taller.

I was talking about the awful wildfires California has...you know, harder to fight because of the mountainous terrain and tall trees. I didn't mean to imply Texas didn't have trees or hills/mountains. I'm sorry I put you on the defensive.
