Question Want to move to Texas

Hey all, I'm new to this website. I'm looking into moving. I currently live in Iowa. Been here all my life. I'm 26 and single and looking for something new. I've never even been to Texas but for some reason think it's calling my name. Since I've never done this before I dont really know where to begin other than I know I would have to have a job in line before moving. I currently work in a hospital where I register patients in the Emergency Dept. but I also want to finish up my cosmetology liscense... Any suggestions on parts of Texas? I was thinking Amarillo? or San Antonio? I'm kinda a small town gal, not big on big, huge, busy cities. But I enjoy some excitment- i'm single and all and will need to meet people! (any single cowboys out there hehehe)

The two cities you mentioned are quite different from each other. San Antonio has roughly 2.2 million people while Amarillo has about 200,000. SA has a huge medical scene. I don't know about Amarillo's. The two cities are about 500 miles from each other. Another city with a large medical community is Lubbock (150 mi S of Amarillo), is 250-260k, and has a large university which adds to the excitement factor, imo. Very friendly, too.
