Moving to Odessa (Austin, Wichita Falls, Andrews: apartments, rental, mobile home)

Looking for a lead on a rental house (1 or 2 bedroom, country - less than $500.00) outside the city.Odessa, Goldsmith, Gardendale, Crane, Monahans, Penwell, Andrews. I don't mind the drive... I am starting a job in Feb. in Odessa. All leads I have come upon are for Apartments. I have a large dog and may have to leave her behind for a while. Sure don't want to do that. I am from the West Texas area, so I know the good and bad of the move I am making. Will be in the area within the next two weeks. If you can suggest anything, please do.

In Andrews contact removed. They had always treated us fairly when we rented a house from them.

But, I do have to say, that drive from Andrews to Odessa is the most boring of all-time girl!!

As far as the drive; well, as I said, I am from the Seymour/Wichita Falls area (outside Austin now) but have no problem with the drive. To get anywhere in Texas, you HAVE to drive. I have 4/70 AC- 4 windows down and 70 miles an hour.. LOL..

If you're looking at Monahans be prepared to be shocked. There's a housing shortage, the mayor owns all the vacant property and is bringing in rickety, thirty-year-old mobile homes and charging $600+ a month. It's not much if you're from a big city, but for Monahans that's a crazy amount to pay for what you'll get in return. Hope you luck out and find something good
