there's frat folks at every college. its a good thing UNT football sucks or UNT would get more frat types.

conservatives are in every corner. ever heard of the "slutbanger'? you havent because your son probably doesnt know how deep the liberal part of Denton gets.

again ever heard of the slutbanger? the house of tinnitus? secret headquaters? strawberry fields? the fra house? 715 panhandle? ever heard of the krunk picnic? ever heard of the pinata of debauchery? you haven't which is why you really have no avenue to see the quirky perspective that Denton has. Its not as spoon fed as it is in Austin... but its there. Austin is full of poseurs anyways most of them come in beause of all the hype. not doggin on those true austinites because they are cool people.

agreed. Denton is pretty flat and boring in terms of scenery. But tell me why would new york traveler do an article on Denton if its as lame as you claim it to be?

Music Issue: Cultured Traveler - An Indie Scene That Comes With a Texas Twang in Denton - Travel - New York Times

something tells me that that formula u use to judge whats cool in town is either a) not working or b)needs to be recalibrated or c)needs more up to date math ?

It is all about what you want as a person. If you want weirdo people of all types running rampant then go for Denton. At times it is so weird that it is a cool town. It is very unique for sure, sort of like how Twin Peaks was unique.

I personally don't like that sort of weirdness and flakeyness.

How? Im here now. But he has all right to give his opinion. He and I have gone at it before about Denton so this is kind of funny for me. Respect to you artsguy.

Anyways.... i believe its true... Denton is like Austin 20 or 30 years ago (and this is simply a guage because Denton has its own thing going on).

Denton is more intimate weird than Austin. I don't know exactly how to explain it but thats that. There is no other town in texas that has the identity and uniqueness that Denton has. Some people here know it and try and make it secret to keep it for themselves.... others don't get it and usually those folks are very materialistic...(the dallas group?). Whatever the case there is no town in texas that has Dentons identity.... NO TOWN.

check the blog entitled "whats a denton?" on here....

MySpace.com - www.myspace.com/397360899

and check the rest of the site out.... all the friends on the space are either denton biz or denton bands. videos are Denton.

good luck.

I agree Denton is tacky and dirty; however, the college kids at UT are really smart but really self absorbed and have very poor social skills to the point that they come across as robots or retards. People were a little more social, friendly, and outgoing at UNT. UNT people held way better parties too.

Also I thought Austin had its dirty yucky parts and it wasn't a big improvement over Denton.
