I would know more since I "LIVE" in Waco

Poor Transportation?!?! If your expecting subways and light rail, too bad. The city is still small and isn't ready for that type of transportation. Our Bus system is NOT poor so I don't understand what your talking about.

I'm not understanding this question or statment. could you word it differently.

Killeen not urban? Rancier Boulevard? As congested as it is in inner city Killeen, complete with sidewalks and pedestrians all over, everything within walking distance.
NO. Rancier? LOL. That is not urban. That is more like anti-urban. Narrow sidewalks filled with strip malls with nothing but cars. Killeen is nothing by low density sprawl. Not meant for pedistrians to walk at all. The only thing they got right was the width of the street. Other than that, it is not urban in no way.

Regardless, while I'd hate to bust your bubble, Killeen and Waco are urban simply because they're cities. According to numerous dictionaries. So it's really not up to your interpretation.
Just because you're a city doesn't mean you are urban. You're trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. They are urban in a way they are built muncipality. But to urbanists around the world, they would laugh at the thought of Killeen and Waco being urban.

This is urban from a city with the population of about the same size as Killeen and Waco. This is Alexandria.

Now Killeen and Waco wishes they could have downtowns like this. To be fair, not all of Alexandria looks like this.

The bus system is not on par with similar cities it's size. Waco's bus system ridership numbers are subpar. It is still a car centric city. That's the feel I get from Waco. If you don't have a car in Waco, you are pretty much done.

Well Waco is going in the right direction and I hope those projects are built. I especially like the wacotownsquare. That said, Waco (most of the city), I'll give you that area around downtown is still suburban and still car centric. I like that last picture and I was wrong in saying all of Waco. Should have said most. But kudos to Waco for actually trying to densify their city and to trying to built projects made for the human in mind.

The only place i was going with was the flow of the conversation. If you feel like you was going another place. Than keep it to yourself because I was not intending to do whatever you are talking about.

Someone said Sharpstown = urban? I don't think so. Straight ghetto does not = urban, and sprawly definitely doesn't either.

The difference with our downtown is that it actually has history to it unlike Sugar Land. Waco isn't that urban as well, but it does have it's urban areas.

I plan on going around Waco next week and taking some pictures.

Actually Waco is about to build up along the Brazos River with developments like that one in Alexandria.

I will agree with you though when you said Waco is Car Centric. I never considered Waco urban, but when you said there's nothing in Waco that is urban is what got me.
