Houston continues to secure its status as a gateway to the Americas by means of international expansions at Bush and Hobby.

Airport chief sees Houston growing as international gateway - Houston Chronicle

Quote:
Delivering the annual State of the Airports address, Diaz said he remains confident the airport system's unprecedented growth over the last two years would continue, with Bush Intercontinental, Hobby and Ellington airports all poised for major changes.

"Houston is without a doubt the most diverse city in the nation, and the Houston Airport System has made that possible," Diaz told a crowd at the Royal Sonesta.

...

"Houston is poised to become a key global gateway destination, with international passengers flowing through Houston on their way throughout the Americas and to various destinations in the U.S."

Instead of a lame short subway maybe Dallas should expand Love Field?

bummer for Dallas. Hobby is getting that $156 million international terminal/airport expansion with the capability of adding an additional 7 gates in the future.

Love is a blessing to Dallas core but due to the fact that it's so close it has growth limitations.

Not really....Love field is already 1000 times better than it was just a year ago with all the new non-stop flights to new destinations and a newly renovated concourse....along with being a dallas based airline thats located in the center of the united states...and...We still have DFW....No gloom in this area for Dallas...no matter how you slice it.......Good for houston!!!......sorry about your dry attempt to downplay Dallas...it never works..

lulz. "1000 times better". exaggerating a bit much? no surprise there..
nice attempt at trying to spin this around and claim I'm predicting gloom and downplaying dallas after you've been trying to do that about Houston for the last few days. all i said was bummer for dallas. instead of having an option for additional destinations from Love, many residents will be forced to have to deal with the hassle that is DFW airport. so its okay for you to make "dry attempts at downplaying Houston" but i can't point out a negative aspect for dallasites? your "innocence" is what never works.

You said this to say that there is no hassle at Houstons Intercontinental airport????..i thought all International airports were pretty much a hassle....at least we have train service to our International airport. ..So at least the parking situation is deleted from OUR hassle....In Houston you still have to drive and pay to park for three days....Love field is and will be Fine.

Try again!!!

its pretty simple, but since you are having trouble understanding, let me break it down for you... would you rather fly out of DFW, or Love? pretty much everyone would prefer Love. its like that in Houston too, but with Hobby. and now Hobby will have the option of going international too, while still being on a much smaller scale than IAH.

ah. the old jab about rail service, that NO ONE RIDES. congrats on wasting away $700 million dollars for a train that hardly anyone rides. Houston chose to invest its money in things that people use. like the actual airports and parking garages at the airports to make the "parking situation" and the airports themselves better. so you would really rather pay $7-$9 a night to park your car at some sketchy unsecured park & ride instead of in a covered parking garage at the airport? instead of having to wait for a train and catch the slow ride into town you can be at your car in a matter of minutes and be on your way home.
