I do agree that its coming from both sides...But I disagree about dallas posters initiating it.We really just retaliate to the bashing from houston....They think because they are the biggest city in texas that they are the best in texas and desrve all the credit....so we just point out our assets to remind them that its two "BIGDOGS" in Tx.....not just them.....Give us our props....thats all we want!!

from an outsider's point of view (as someone who has never lived in dallas or houston), i can say that it is a two-way street; HOWEVER, a majority of the insults come from dallasites directed at houston. without a doubt...
thinking of the times i've had a conversation with a dallasite when houston comes up, and they feel the need to tell me that "dallas is the much better city". when i didn't even ask them. or how about those comments from the infamous mr. jones about how houston is all about "checkered table cloths" (or something to that effect), trying to paint them as some backwards hick town. and don't forget how dallas (allegedly) tried to convince the olympic committee that houston would be a terrible host city
outside of these forums, i can't remember the last time i've heard a houstonian talk negatively about dallas. the last conversation i shared with a h'nian where dallas came up, there reply was, "oh yeah, my best friend stays up there".
it seems that houstonians are simply fed up with the other city's attitude and bullying tactics. but dallas just likes to pick on houston
I believe it comes from both sides too but like i said a few pages back, the people in Dallas always find some way to take a sucker punch at Houston.
My sister was visting Dallas on a project on her job a few years ago. She told of a conversation where went to Cavender's Boot city up there to get some cowboy boots. She and the man helping her got into a small conversation. She told him she was going to head down to Houston because she had family down there and the man said, "Oh, i feel so sorry for them!" She replied back somewhat offended and said, "No, i'm sure that's how they feel about you!"
Any bashing that Houston does to Dallas is more of retaliation. When Dallasites get all pouty that someone talks about their city, i kind of view them as whimps and sissies. No doubt Houston has its problems but it has to endurre unfair beatings by the rest of America and even members in its own family. If you hit a kid everyday, eventually he's going to hit back! Metaphorically speaking, Dallas is like the pretty "prissy " little sister of the family who gets her hair, nails, and feet done who was always spoiled with attention who stomps and cries when the attention is given to someone else in the family. Especially her bigger, less attractive, but cooler, "realer" personality sister Houston!

that's pretty much the point i was trying to make. but i'm sure many dallasites will say it isn't true

Just based on my personal experiences, the people in dallas actually like houston, say good things about it, and those who don't know about the city would like to visit it.
Thing is, we generalize cities based on other people's experience. If person "A" came in contact with person "B", and "B" is hating on houston, then "A" would assume the whole city is like that. And that is not right on both sides.
I believe the official moniker is Jerrah H. Jones Cowboys Stadium.
This is correct.
