It's the tallest outside a CBD in Texas, not in the USA. It's a nice looking building but its kinda weird to see a building so big not around taller structures.

The Empire State Building is the tallest since it's located in Midtown Manhattan, which is not the CBD. Downtown Manhattan is the CBD of NYC.

It's not as if Houston is the only city in the world to have very tall buildings outside of downtown. That's part of excitement of our skyline. You mad Dallas couldn't do it?

Wouldn't BOA in Atlanta be the tallest outside of a CBD in America? Then again, I'm not sure if it's technically considered Midtown or not.

Lower Manhattan is ONE of the central business districts of NYC, but Midtown is one, as well. Midtown is actually the larger of the two, and is even considered, by some, to be the "main" CBD.

Nahh....I'm not jealous at all. Dallas has a 560 ft building in Uptown.

I'd be happy if Dallas was like D.C.
I'm more about street presence than height. I guess everyone has their preferences. I don't think Dallas needs to go any taller, just needs to fill in what it has. I'm glad most of the growth is happening in the core rather than out in fringe districts.
