To set the record straight, I'm not trying to start a rivalry as that's a bit small minded. I have family in both metros, and both have more in common than people think. However I still stand by what I said previously.

I'm a Dallas native (name sort of gives it away) and I love my city despite its flaws. However...I'm not going to diss Houston just because it's not Dallas. Houston has its good and bad points and so does Dallas. At the end of the day it's just a matter of personal preference...the two cities are very comparable in terms of employment opportunities, cost of living, diversity, etc. If someone wants to move to Houston instead of Dallas, fine...I wish them well. :-)

I'm not saying anyone on this post is trying to start a rivalry. At least not here. But I'm going to college right now and most of the students are either from Dallas and Houston. They constantly have these little "my town's better than yours" ***-offs like they are the only two cities in Texas.
I wouldn't mind if they (both Dallasites AND Houstonians) didn't include my city in the argument. But they do, as if the whole DFW area was Dallas in general.

Not to start an argument, and definately not trying to get Ft. Worth involved in this thread. Just dont argue over who's better than who. We all know who are real rival is.......
California. Keep it that way.

I like Dallas, but I think We shouldn't fight against each other... I think we should team up on all Californian cities, they all think we are a bunch of redneck conservative hicks.
I do feel a Rivalry between Dallas and Houston(skyline, population, etc.), but I feel a larger one with California.
Houston's Skyline is slightly taller then the Dallas skyline, but I would say they are evenly matched, Dallas has more shape in its buildings.

This might have to do with being deep in the TX bible belt, and the social effects it has on certain regions up there.

Okay. We'll talk about Houston's 5.5 million (soon to be 6 million) vs. the Dallas side of the Metroplex's 4 million. We get it: Fort Worth is our friend.

I like Houston's skyline much better than Dallas's. Dallas's building I don't know there is something about them I don't like. Houston's look a little nicer. But both are much nicer than Austin's (non-existent) and San Antonio's. San Antonio's skyline looks like a newer version of downtown Cincinnati with that freaky space needle in the middle. Ugly indeed.

austin's skyline is non-existant? Have you been in austin in a while? Did you not see the 500 plus towers going up in downtown.

Houston vs. Dallas --- SMACKDOWN ???

Well, I think they both pretty much suck.
Both have probelms that far exceed their good points.
There... I just smacked both of 'em down!
