Your own link explains rather well the differences between the Deep South and the rest of the region. Did you bother reading it? Here's where North Georgia is often included:

What aspect of the fact Georgia is only ONE State do you not comprehend?

There is no official separation between North Georgia and South Georgia. It's Georgia.

That doesn't mean much. Houston and El Paso are both in Texas, but hardly anyone would consider them to be in the same cultural region.

I understand what you're saying, however, the cultural differences between the Northern part of Georgia and the Southern part are negligible as compared to Texas.

Is North Alabama not in the Deep South? North Mississippi? North Louisiana? Northern South Carolina?

Are the Southern parts of all of those States considered the Deep South?

Since this topic isn't Dallas vs Houston SMACKDOWN related, I'm moving on now...

The differences between Gainesville and Albany are anything but negligible. Just because you can't pick up on them doesn't mean they aren't valid.

But you're right. This is off topic, so we'll drop it.

Deep south isn't a culture; it's a geographical pinpoint.

Location wise??? Houston is arguably deep south.

Why, because I read the news?

AID's a totally preventable disease unless you're born with it like this little girl was & even then it is a manageable one much like diabetes. This was never possible 15-20 years ago. The AA youth community obviously needs furthering education on the spread of HIV if it is becoming an epidemic in Dallas County like the article states.
