It is about 18 miles from the Houston area, but Waller and Hockley are small towns in between the two.

Yes. UT Arlington and UNT too.

How about just University of Dallas. I think Dallas is the only city in the top 15 or so largest cities without their name slapped unto a large school

PV practically is the outskirts of Houston.

Pretty much has been downplayed.

Unlike Smoo's Death Penalty, I highly doubt it effects the football team for years and years to come...

Thanks for the responses. If PV is the outskirts and is close to the growth, why dont many of you think that PV's becoming part of the sprawl isn't possible within the next 10 years?

There's already a university in Irving called the University of Dallas.

.... I wouldn't say that. Not yet.

Cypress, yes, definately. But Prairie View (Hempstead and Waller, while we're at it) are all still surrounded by farm land with no real "just a few steps away" type of connection to the suburbs.

It really isnt that far tho. Once you get to Katy Hockley, you start seeing the roofs new subdivisions. That's like fifteen minutes from Prairie View. A couple of minutes later and youre at the outlet mall.

I believe that it will at the rate the metro is growing. The same with Huntsville to Conroe its only a 15 min drive (depending on traffic).

That was just my lame jab at Houston's sprawl. Louisiana will be the outskirts of Houston one day.

Bro, I drive to Cypress or Houston every weekend. I know what you mean, but I just don't see the northern part of Waller County as the outskirts of Houston.

15 minutes ain't that far, but it's still too far for me, ya know? I hate havin' to burn up about half a gallon of gas just to get to a decent mall.
