MOST Texans don't care about hockey, and that's the point, so it's ridiculous to argue about why Houston doesn't have a team or why Dallas' team is one of the least popular franchises in the league. I highly doubt anyone in Houston is losing sleep over this.
Actually, historically, the Stars averaged in the top 12 for attendance every year until their owner had financial issues and the level of play went down. Dallas is very much known as the most successful sunbelt cities. Hockey is indeed very popular in the Metroplex.

Your way of using it doesn't make sense though.

That doesn't mean the current Mavs are infinitely better than the Rockets. All that means is that Jason Terry likes playing against the Rockets. The Rangers are the only team.

Ah, okay. So a team that wins against another team (twice) isn't necessarily better than the losing team? What does make a team better, then? Your opinion?

Makes perfect sense, thanks.

Not really. It would be different if the Mavs blew the Rockets out, but when you watch the games, its obvious both are about even. The Mavs have a superstar tho.

Dallas has a better record this season (and last year obviously) although neither are doing too great. Dallas is ahead in the conference by one spot. So yeah, they are better.

The Mavs also, at least for another two months, are the current world champs. I think that gives them a slight edge even if their team was raided in the offseason.
