I don't worry at all, but I think I understand what Metro is talking about. Take Exxon-Mobile for instance they have what, 300 employees in Irving and 10,000 in Houston ? Where do you think most of the decisions at Exxon are really made?

In Irving. The amount of employees doesn't have nothing to do with it.

All I can say is my uncle has worked with Exxon for a good part of 30+ years in the field & has more often than not gone to Houston for safety training & company seminars. He rarely, if ever has been to Irving/Dallas for anything Exxon related if that tells you something.

Actually once that 385 acre North Harris county campus is completed there will be over 12,000 employees in the area including the heads of most of the major divisions of the company. That Headquarters in DFW is just window dressing.

Why is Exxon in Dallas if their sites are in the Houston area? I never understood that.

oh, and watch out you guys because I'll be in Houston for the weekend starting tomorrow night.

The very same reason Haliburton is based out of Houston & has offices all over the world, even one in Dallas.

To expand their presence in the market place.

Dallas also has the whole upscale hotel space thing going for it to host some enormous, luxurious conventions if need be. Houston not nearly as much, but that is changing.

It really wouldn't matter if the Exxon HQ in Irving only had 1 employee. On Paper it says irving and thats what counts. Let Houston Do all the work. Thats what blue collar towns are for.

I have noticed that many North Texasns down Houston and South East Texas in general. Well did you know that this area makes up nearly 40% of Texas economy. 40% is quite a bit. I don't think may people realize the importance of this area.

My question for you. Do you think Texas could survive without Houston (Southeast Texas)?
Lol last time when I was watching the news, they showed a group of Houstonians in Dallas, for some reason they kept acting awkward and looked nervous, and I also heard of a Houstonian who lost her dog in Dallas
That's what y'all get for poking around in Dallas
