As you can see, you get a hurricane and everybody comes out. I personally like the waist high days when a nice low sits in the gulf and there is nobody out. You might want to take up longboarding for a huge majority of the time or you will be sour. The OC guy is used to having 365 days a year consistent surf so don't expect him to understand, you nearly have to be a weather forecaster to get in on the decent days though its not too difficult to find the days when there are waves is hard to find the times on those days when the waves are clean. I am loving socal out here but some things suck, no bonefires, having to pay to surf some of the breaks 10$'s, having to walk a long distance to some of the breaks, "Hard with two longboards and a toddler", and the sick crowds at the main breaks. I cannot wait for winter. The crowds at the more popular surf spots all over the bloody country are usually sky high in the summer, that is also normally when the atlantic and gulf coast are most fickle and smallest.

Should have done that yesterday or the day before. Hopefully noone is that challenged! Although I was listening to a press conference by the mayor of Houston and he said people were kayaking in the bayous still.

I have surfed Cali to Cabo I ride a 9'6 bear shaped by randy rarick..I surf in galveston to surfside and I usually get down and surf several times a month, anything from thigh to when conditions are good chest or overhead.. I love surfing the gulf coast.. just because were not spoiled like our west coast brothers and sisters and we have to work a little harder for our surf doesnt mean its not here.. we just stay quiet about it because we dont want the crowds.. if your a true surfer you will see what I mean and figure it out!!!!
