I do the SAME THING when I come home!..lol..its on channel 2 or 3 or something like that...Im just a closet City Council watcher..lol

About the Cascades --- I know crazy right..but I promise to God, we were driving around the Cascades viewing the houses we had heard so much about. We noticed a white van slowly following us through the small streets with no apparent direction other than the route we traversed. We finally stopped our car, at which point the man in the white van pulled up behind us and stopped.

We got out and asked if there was a problem or perhaps if there were some reason we were being followed. We were told quite abruptly that "Yeah, Im one of the owners of these properties and I was wondering what you were doing driving through here." We told him we were just touring the development we had heard so much about.

He informed us that we looked suspicious, and that people had been riding through stealing construction supplies (this was in the earlier stages of its development) and that he thought we might be attempting to do that. At that point I no longer felt the need to justify why we were in what we thought was a publicly accessible locale. I called law enforcement, we all (me, my sister, the partial property owner) waited for the police to arrive...

The officer asked for our identification, we obliged..We explained the situation to the officer. The officer gave the gentleman a warning and told him to back off. The officer then gave us a card to call if the gentleman continued his behavior. As God as my witness this happened so needless to say we kind of lost interest in the Cascades development...lol However from what we were able to see, it is a very impressive development.
I can see this happening there. When I wanted to take some up close pictures of The Stretford I kindly asked a man standing outside who appeared to be one of the developers if I could before doing so. I was rudely referred to the "butler" who shortly appeared out of no where from the lobby & basically gave me the go away "you don't belong here" look. His attitude wreaked of pretentiousness like he was Alfred Pennyworth from Batman guarding Wayne Manor. I did however manage to get a few good shots in after explaining I was just taking several pictures to update a skyscraper website's database on new buildings.

It's a nice place, but it's just not one of the better skylines.

This is slightly off topic, but I can now see where Hollywood is getting new material for some of the new movies they are coming out with. The one coming out with Samuel L. Jackson who is a psycho cop who tortures the family next door...I got a laugh out of the trailer where he's slashing at the peoples climbing plants with a chainsaw "I DID NOT give you permission to plant those!!" And also, the show series "Fear Itself" when they did a story about a couple who moves to a gated community (sort of loosely based on Stepford, I guess) and they are monitored every minute of the day and the "H.O.A" gets involved in every aspect of their lives and they never let people leave once they move there. The guy tries to escape, but his brainwashed wife brings him back and they amputate his legs so he can't get away

El Paso has mountains in its skyline. No other city in Texas can match that.

I suppose mountains do count, at least, in the case of EP. You can make a solid case for these.

I would say the mountains in El Paso make a nice back drop and give it it's own flavor different from other cities in the state. With that said the skyline (buildings) itself aren't that impressive. Especially for a city the size of EP.

That doesn't mean they couldn't try.

Regarding El Paso......

Let's see, compare this

(El Paso)

...to this

(Nashville, which is smaller than El Paso)

You think El Paso could do a little better?

You dont even need to use Nashville as an example. I think CC has a better skyline than EP
