Fort Worth has 4 towers over 500 feet tall. Pretty decent for a city of 680,000 if you ask me.

Just for comparison, Austin a city of ~750,000 only has 2 towers over 500 feet tall with a possible 3rd on the way.

FW's population actually surpassed 700,000 earlier this year. Austin's is still larger.

Smile Imo

IMO I will give you a list of the best to worst skylines. The best being 10 & 0 being worst

1. Tie: 10: Dallas & Houston are just too awesome skylines I can't pick one. In Dallas you can see the skyline from it's suburbs or 20 to 30 miles away, it is very impressive at night with all the lights + the bank of americas neon lights (what are they called? is it neon?) but in Houston the skyline is breathtaking when you come up on it. From the interstate, it goes right by the buildings. Houston's skyline is better then Los Angeles. But LA has restrictions because of earthquakes. but still it is nice. + the architectual designs in both skylines are magnificent. In comparison the skyline's are better then San Diego, Phoenix & Philadelphia's skyline
2. Austin: 10: Even thought Austin's skyline does not have the hight of some cities the architecual designs are awesome + A Capital is going to add to any skyline. The City is beautiful at night, lots of neon lights & other lights make Austin nice. The Skyline is beautiful from Mt. Bonnell just West of town. I say it is nicer then Nashville, Memphis, Milwaukee, New Orleans, ABQ NM & Oklahoma City
3. Midland: 10: Even though this is a small town the skyline makes Midland look 200,000. I think midland took Odessas skyline & gave it the polluting plants LOL. Midland is an example to any small town it's size
4. Corpus Christi: 10: The skyline is very nice from the bay. The Skyline lights up at night which is nice, that reflects on the bay & is magnificent. It is nicer then Sacramento & about the same as Omaha & Miami
5. Fort Worth: 9: FTW is a very nice skyline, a few of the skyscrapers are 40 stories & you can see them for 20 miles. The skyline is awesome going South of I-35. The skyline is nice at night. Even though Nashville looks like it has more skyscrapers, the highest goes 33 stories + FT Worths skyline does not look run down. But Fort Worths skyline needs to look like Seattle or Denver's skyline. Breath taking
6. San Antonio: 8: San Antonio needs lots of work exspecially since it surpassed Dallas in population but the skyline is nice at night. San Antonio's skyline is better then Phoenix & Philadephia's skyline & they are bigger then SA.
7. Amarillo 8: Amarillo has the tallest building inbetweetn Fort Worth & Denver at 40 stories. The skyline is not hard on the eyes, they keep it up but Midland still looks bigger :-) but not taller
8: Tyler 8: The skyline is not the most magnificent but the buildings are nice. The "little sears tower" as yall have called it is very nice + it has a red neon light on it with four red lights at the very top. The Downtown glows at night which makes this little city number 8
9: Waco 8: Waco's skyline looks old but it is still nice. You have the City Hall Dome which looks like a mini capital & the Alico building which the words "Alicio" at top that shines at night. You can see the Downtown for I think it is 10 or 15 miles coming West on Hwy 84
10: Abilene 7: The skyline is nice from the Interstate & you can see it at night which adds a lot. The skyline looks old when you get close to it but it is still something nice to look at
11: Wichita Falls 7: This little cities skyline is not bad. I can't remember if you can see it at night & none of the skyscrapers are 20 stories high but it is nice enough to come into number 11
12: Odessa 6: As I said Midland took Odessa's skyscrapers but it did leave it a few. Even though Odessa does not have the nicest skyline it does not hurt your eyes to look at it LOL.
13: El Paso 5: I don't know what it is about some desert cities (ABQ & Phoenix) but they just don't have the skyline to fit the population. El Paso looks maybe 300,000 at the most but yet is around 660,000. It does look nice at night though it should take some lessons from the cities above. El Paso begins my worst skyline list
14: Denton 4: Even though the tall buildings are not in downtown but on the womens university campus. It looks like they are downtown & they are nice looking skyscrapers. But because they are not downtown they are part of the worst list.
15: Beaumont 4: I was not impressed with Beaumonts skyline. It is ok though.
16: San Angelo 4: Well the buildings are old but at least it has some nice downtown buildings.
17: Longview 4: What I said about S. Angelo applies
18. S. Padre Island 3. Even though this is a town of 2,000 & the buildings are not downtown but are condos on the beach, this little Island town has got it going on. The skyline is nice & it is nice at night. The only reason it is in my worst skyline list is because they are not downtown.
19: Lubbock 3: Look at that a little town of 2,000 beat Lubbock. Sorry but Lubbock is 200,000 now so it needs to look bigger then 90,000. The skyline is ugly but yet at least Lubbock has a skyline
20. McAllen 2: McAllen only has like 2 skyscrapers but they are nice looking. The nicest skyline in the vally besides for little SPI.
21. Victoria 2: Victoria is 60,000 & only has one high-rise but it is a nice high-rise.
22. Temple 1: Temple is only 55,000 but it at least has a skyline
23. Laredo 1: Compared to Amarillo, Des Moines & even Lubbock this skyline stinks so for all of you that live in Lubbock, give your skyline a hug LOL
24: Brownsville 0: The worst Texas city with a skyline
25: Killeen 0: I'm sorry where is downtown, even though Killeen lives because of Fort Hood it is 100,000 & yet you will not find a single skyscraper in Killeen that is why I gave Temple a 1. It is half the size & it at least has 2 or 3 high-rises. so Killeen is the Worst Texas city with out a skyline
Thank you for reading & I have enjoyed everyones openions & I hope you enjoy mine

Actually Waco doesn't have much of a downtown area at all w/exception of the Alico building which is interesting in a retro kind of way but what Waco does have is somewhat scenic (by Texas standards) considering it lies right on the Brazos river. Lubbock has one of the worst by far and needless to say the terrain surrounding it is scant at best (Llano Estacado). Dallas, of course, has an excellent skyline and still growing, sadly the terrain around Dallas as most know doesn't help it any further. Houston's skyline is my favorite, and oddly Houston has a more cosmopolitan air to it than Dallas does and always has.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Plano? Mile upon mile of uniterrupted pyramid shaped roofs forever unto the horizon.
