Default Administrative jobs in Texarkana

I've just recently moved to Texarkana from Northwest Arkansas b/c of my husband's job and wondered if anyone could give me some leads on good places to work. My background is in architecture/engineering/construction doing administrative work. I would like to stay in that field but it would be ok if I had to change. thanks.

Read 291 times now, Just checking up on Texarkana,

Any luck on your job hunt, I would look at the hospitals. Have considered moving their as well and the lack of jobs stops me.

There are two state colleges there.....might be a good place to look for state jobs....pay is not great but the working atmosphere is usually very nice on a campus and the insurance and retirement benefits are decent.

Lake Ray - I did apply at the big hospital here. My first interview got down to me and another person and they picked the other person. My second interview was for a temporary 4-5 week job. Before they offered the job to me, I had another interview set up with a contractor which I thought was going to be for me so I declined the temp job. I've applied to several others at the hospital since then and I haven't been called. I feel since I didn't take the temp job, I've been blackballed. The hospital does pay pretty well (for Texarkana).

GayleTX - I've had 2 interviews at Texas A & M. The first was a higher level position, and as it turns out it was filled internally. My second interview was a lower level entry type job but I was not picked, because I'm sure they thought I was over qualified.

Go elsewhere. There are only a very limited number of 'good' jobs here, and they're usually taken by older women with kids. Check the Texarkana Gazette or the Greater Workforce of Texarkana. Later.
