Question for Crawford residents
Did your property values increase or change when President Bush was elected? Has your population increased due to Crawford getting national news coverage when the president visits to his Crawford Texas ranch? Have you been effected in other ways by the president owning property near you?

You might as well be phoning E.T. The only place in (well, near) Crawford with internet service is that big ranch (The Fumbling W) just outside of town. You might try the Dairy Queen just down the road at at McGregor. The number there is (254) 840-3118 I believe. Ask for Bubba or Zony Mae.

(254) 840-3118 is not a working number.

They say everything is bigger in Texas, so is it safe to say that's a big no?

The Crawford part of the state is not a residential destination area. No would probly be appropriate.

I never really understood what it meant about everything being bigger in Texas, but that is neither here nor there. Anyway, to answer your question, I really don't know. I kind of doubt that GWB living there would raise any taxes and as far as the population increasing, I doubt that too.
Personally, I wouldn't want to live near all the nuttiness of so many political people and the curious general public coming to what is a nice little small town. Small towns need to stay small, but I'm supposing the business owners' profits have multiplied in these past eight years. I trust that made a few people happy.
I live about 40 miles, I guess, from Crawford and what has bothered me, especially the few years following 9-11 were the fighter jets that sometimes were sent out to that area when a potential threat was reported. The planes flying overhead drove me nuts.

Think of it as your tax dollars at work. I spent some time in Abilene while my mother was there. One of two places the B1 bomber is stationed. It was also a strategic air command base when I was a kid.
For me, that's not much that is more reassuring than the rumble of a B1 bomber at sunrise.
