My two personal favorites, I cant decide which I like more, are SA and Houston. Austin is too liberal for me. Austin's "saying" sorta... "Keep Austin weird", is pretty true. Lol. Austin is weird. Dont get me wrong, its a beautiful city. But its different than other cities.

But isn't that sort of the point, that each city is different from other cities, each with its own virtues and vices? Otherwise, no one would ever need to move because every place would be exactly the same as every other place!

Houston is the winner hands down if its multi-culturalism you seek. No other Texas city can touch it period. Houston's diversity rivals the larger cities of the East/West Coasts & is THE most diverse city in the whole entire South. There are over 90 languages spoken in Houston & its got consulates from almost every country in the world. Any kind of ethnic food you crave can be had in Houston very easily.

First, you have to define what "best" means to you. What are the criteria that you think make a big city "good"? Without that, we're just giving you our own personal preferences, and they could be 180 degrees from yours.
