The one that I'm trying to save is trying to die on me tonight! As the saying goes....not on my shift...too much paperwork!

i hear ya...i remember those days. when you've had enough of that, come work with me where you will get tired of charting "normal sinus rhythm, no ectopy noted" and everyone has an SPO2 of 99-100% on room air and your biggest worry is what you're going to eat for lunch ha ha!!
p.s. drinkin' a Shiner Bock for ya!

Its all slang, I actually think there should be a plural form of 'you' just like the French Vous, the Chinese 你们(NiMen), and the Spanish Ustedes and Vosotros...
Y'all is actually short for 'you all' which I do occasionally use....
but I do use y'all...

I'm closing my eyes right now and pretending that I'm sitting in a honky tonk deep in the heart of Texas, listening to my favorite singer, Dale Watson. I can feet the coolness in my throat as that Shiner Bock slides down. A blur of dancers 2-stepping across the dance floor....
Thanks! The monitor alarms just brought me back to reality

I try not to use "you guys" if there are females in the group I am addressing, but it's been known to happen with no ill effects. "Y'all" is a perfectly good colloquialism, IMO. I wouldn't use it in a term paper or anything formal, but there isn't anything wrong with using it in everyday conversation.

I think Catman might actually get it. Like I have been saying all along, there's nothing wrong with saying the word. It is still not proper English, which means you wouldn't use it in a term paper. Right ?
And my apologies to Texaswannabe if I miss understood you.

Apology accepted. I would still save your life even though you think I use improper English.

Well, for all your insistence on proper English, "miss understood" is not correct.
It would be "misunderstood." You also do not need a space between "Right" and the question mark.
You left yourself wide open for this, too.
Your insistence on what is proper English obviously does not extend to the written word.
