Default Moving to Texas

My husband and I purchased land in Laredo, Tx last year and are now thinking of moving there next year, we will sell our home here and build a new bigger one over there and be mortgage free. Can you tell me if Laredo is as great as my sister-n-law and some friends say. How about schools?

Laredo is... well its Laredo. A border town. I wouldn't move or live there but that's me, maybe you'll love it.

However, its a city with very high crime. Lots of gang wars taking place across the river in Neuvo Laredo (Mexico).

If you want anykind of highend retail, you will NOT find it in Laredo. Even things like Costco or Kohl's. I don't think Laredo has a Super Target, etc.

My advise, give it a try but don't go there with high expectations.

I'm not trying to be rude by saying this, but I don't think asking the same question over and over is going to get you a favorable response.Laredo is what it is,and I don't know of many people that would recommend Laredo to anyone.

I have to agree with what everyone is saying about Laredo. It is a very violent city. Women, especially young women, are murder quite often and some are never found. I have in-laws who live there and this is what they tell me and I have watched tv specials about it. I really think you should really think about it before making a big decision.

Yikes! Gosh, what a bummer for Californiamom. I hope everything works out for you. I live in TX... N/central... I'll have to find Laredo on the map and NOT visit. Much luck.
