Default Where are they now

Is it just me, my nature or my interest in people in general, but I am curious what ever happened to some of the posters on here, particularly the ones who ask all kinds of questions about moving to TX then disappear. Do they all decide not to move here? For example, what ever happened to the single mom with 2 kids who was looking at moving to Portland and riding her bike across the bridge to work in CC because she did not have or want a car? We have recently heard from scubashawn who disappeared for awhile so we know what happened with his move and unfortunately know he is not happy with it. Sure wish people would do a follow-up post so we know how it all turned out. I try to come back on here at least every few weeks to check up on my internet friends on here. "Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver, the other is gold".

My guess is that they weren't seeking to become part of the community, they just view the board as a help desk to answer their questions.

It makes me wonder how many people are getting answers without even making a post... they just read old threads.

ya know...if they decide not to move or change their plans, that's one thing, but what would really bug me is those who use this forum to research out potential new homes and let's say they finally made the big move....and didnt give an update. that would really irritate me, because i feel it would be very helpful to others to share their experiences and the "reality" of living in their new town/city. ya know? when i moved back to Texas after a 3 year tour in Georgia, i shared my experiences with the board!

I followed some of them..and you're right....they decide not to move to TX or they don't get the transfer...or they couldn't sell their house ...or they decide after reading some post...that they don't want to have anything to do with our great state. Some of our post....do tend to get a little depressing.

well my personal frustration is from when i put alot of effort, time, to answer people's questions when they are exploring a new prospective place....and then to not have any closure...........

I'll stay on the boards once I move because I'm addicted to this place. Besides, I've made some good friends on here--I plan on meeting up with a few once I hit town!

I've noticed quite a few posters who are new and post 2 or 3 questions for research and then go away. I guess they are just using all you fine folk for thier own best interest. It's frustrating but know they got the best information and you helped them decide what to do, where to go, or how to handle a situation.
Then we can continue the party amonst ourselves!!!!

I agree.....they reply back and fourth for several weeks and then they just drop off the face of the earth. I do admit that sometimes I forget where I've posted things...so I just check my postings and go back and re-visit them. LOL!

I agree with Bowie but I'll add something: Perhaps some of them forgot they signed up here, or they got a better answer somewhere else? I've also noticed sometimes that a ? goes unanswered? And then I look at their profile and realize they havent been back after they posted, so maybe they were expecting one of us to give them an e-mail?

What I dont understand is when someone asks a ? about rock bands in Milwaukee or pick-up football games in Rockingham, NC but ask not the the general state forum, but in the Sports or Music forum.
