I pray for their safety also.....and have friends in Houston.

Since you live in FL, you know all too well what all this is about.

Thank you for your post!

Thanks! I live inland near Austin and our little bitty town is already filling up with evacuees. My mom is staying put in the Clear Lake area so I'm watching the storm closely to see how it's going in her neck of the woods.

Thank you for your prayers, this is so thoughtful of you. When disasters strike it is comforting to know others are praying along with us. My neighbors have relatives in Florida and I have some real good friends who are moving down there at the end of the year. I know we were all saying extra prayers the year Florida was going throught the horrible wildfires and of course during hurricane seasons. Thanks again for the sweet and thoughtful post.

Default My coastal relatives are insane!! Or suicidal!!

My cousin lives in Texas City .....right on the bay where the hurricane is going to hit, right in the middle of dozens of refineries. She and her husband and their daughter and her husband and two children have decided to stay there thru the hurricane! My cousin has just been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer but she is able to travel and could easily have left days ago when everyone else began leaving.

And what is even more insane, her daughter, a young teacher in Dallas (a safe place to evacuate to), is not going to stay in Dallas - she's on her way down to Texas City to be with her family during the hurricane!! My aunt called this morning to put me on notice that we may need to plan to go to funerals before long. We were already making plans for my cousin, but not the whole damn family!

I've just been chatting to my ex neighbours in Houston.

It's the poor folks who live on the coast I feel for.

I was staying on Surfside last year, and that area is suffering already.
