Default Newly Incorporated Places in Texas

I have always found the cities and towns of Texas, each with its own unique history and identity, very interesting.

After doing a little research, I found that quite a few unincorporated communities have chosen to become incorporated municipalities over the last few years. Many of these places are rather small and little-known outside of the immediate area where they are located. There were even a few that I - an admitted Texas Geography/History buff - hadn't even heard of until recently!

Here's the roll of Texas communities that have incorporated since 2000. The population figures are based on July 1, 2007 estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Incorporated in 2000
City of Brazos Country (Austin County) - Population: 292
City of DeCordova (Hood County) - Population: 3,255
City of Cashion Community [Cashion] (Wichita County) - Population: 335
City of Cresson (Parker, Hood, & Johnson counties) - Population: 736
Town of DISH (Denton County) - Incorporated as Clark in 2000, renamed in 2005 - Population: 174
Village of Point Venture (Travis County) - Population: 472
Village of Salado (Bell County) - Population 2,046
City of Wimberley (Hays County) - Population: 2,808

Incorporated in 2001
City of Hideaway (Smith County) - Population: 2,919
City of Jarrell (Williamson County) - Population: 1,425
City of Kurten (Brazos County) - Population: 234

Incorporated in 2003
City of Bedias (Grimes County) - Population: 435
City of East Bernard (Wharton County) - Population: 2,225
Town of Scurry (Kaufman County) - Population: 694
Village of Volente (Travis County) - Population: 394
Village of Webberville (Travis County) - Population: 315

Incorporated in 2004
City of Brazos Bend (Hood County) - Population: 71

Incorporated in 2005
City of Escobares (Starr County) - Population: 1,304
City of Horseshoe Bay (Llano & Burnet counties) - Population: 2,479
City of Taylor Landing (Jefferson County) - Population: 214

Incorporated in 2007
City of Union Valley (Hunt County)

Incorporated in 2008
City of Staples (Guadalupe County)
City of Von Ormy (Bexar County)
City of Weston Lakes (Fort Bend County)

To Texas Forum posters:
--Were any of these places unknown to you prior to reading this post? If so, which ones?
--Any thoughts, experiences, or interesting facts on a specific place(s)?
--Do you know of any other communities in the state that are considering incorporation in the near future?

All comments are welcome!

The town of DISH is the result of a promotional stunt by DishNetwork. They vowed to give the first town that changed their name to DISH free service.

Hot Springs, NM, got its new name in a similar fashion in 1950 when Ralph Edwards vowed to do his radio game show "Truth or Consequences" from the first town to change its name.

I knew about Point Venture, Salado, Wimberly, DeCordova, Jarrell, East Bernard, Volente, Webberville, Brazos Bend, and Horseshoe Bay. East Bernard was close to where I grew up in Brazoria.

I have heard that The Woodlands may actually become incorporated in about 2010 or 2011 -- you Houston posters can correct me if I'm wrong. But I believe that's what I've heard. Hope it happens.

There's one that I'd like to see incorporated, and it's the only unincorporated county seat in the state of Texas, as far as I know. I'm talking about Ozona, in Crockett County (West Texas).

Heard of, and been to just about all the towns listed in North Texas except DISH.
Same with the ones in Central Texas/Hill Country.

There are a few more county seats in Texas that aren't incorporated as well.

Unincorporated communities
Boston (Bowie County)
Gail (Borden County)
Garden City (Glasscock County)
Guthrie (King County)
Montague (Montague County)
Mentone (Loving County)
Palo Pinto (Palo Pinto County)
Sarita (Kenedy County)
Tilden (McMullen County)

Census-designated places (CDPs)
Fort Davis (Jeff Davis County)
Hebbronville (Brooks County)
Lipscomb (Lipscomb County)
Ozona (Crockett County)
Sierra Blanca (Hudspeth County)
Sanderson (Terrell County)

Census-designated places (CDPs) are designated by the Census Bureau and are used only for statistical purposes. They have no legal status or municipal government, but resemble incorporated places in that they have settled concentrations of population that are identifiable by name.

jhugg is on a distinguished road
Where does one find information about newly incorporated places in Texas? Or, for that matter, newly dis-incorporated places in Texas?

I tried searching the Texas Register for "Escobares", but got nowhere.
