Belle, you have a standing invitation to come visit me some weekend! I'll go to Fredericksburg with you if you don't mind driving. There are some really neat little towns like Brady and Mason to go through, too. (They're more to my liking -- they're really Texas-y. I find Fredericksburg to be awfully expensive for buying stuff.)

The thing I hate is that the shops in Fredericksburg close early. Plus, it IS difficult to find a restaurant open sometimes unless you want to hit that big ole touristy one where all of the tour buses seem to go!

Default Stay Away!!

I'm kind of glad to hear you werent impressed. Maybe the hundreds of thousands that DO like it can be staved off for awhile longer. Its getting too crowded out here. When I moved here 17 years ago it really was a small, idyllic town. Now it's a tourist quagmire and the wilderness surrounding is now rich sub-divisions. Stay Away!!!
