Hey my fellow Texas lovers! I just wanted to let y'all know that I just registered for the San Antonio rock 'n' roll marathon in November '09. That way, even if we haven't been able to make our move yet, I'll get my little Texas fix anyway. If you register by December 15 and enter HOLIDAY in the promo box at checkout, you'll get $10 off! Just go to Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio Marathon and Half Marathon 2009 - San Antonio Texas to register. Maybe it seems crazy, but if Katie Holmes and Oprah can run a marathon, then doggone it, so can I! I'll draw my inspiration from the Alamo . See ya there!

Good for you dweej...wish I could join you! I hope you are moved and settled in Texas just in time for this marathon. That is a great goal to prepare for . This forum helps me alot while I am waiting to move. The other things I've done is call the chamber of commerce in the various towns I'm interested in...they send out so much info. I have had subscriptions to all kinds of Texas magazines, such as Texas Highways and Fort Worth, The Magazine. Travel Tex has a yearly guide that you can order for free. When I start getting homesick for Texas I have a whole arsenal of stuff to get me by .

I set it up to help myself and autotech through the wait to move, I had no idea it would be so popular! Thanks everyone! Yeeeehaaaaaaa!

Thanks again senoritacharlene for starting this thread. It will be neat when we are all on the "other side" of the waiting to move scenario. We can start a new thread about our move to Texas experiences . Get the Travel Tex guide, it is really nice and in full color. You can get the 2008 edition now, but the 2009 one is right around the corner.
