Me, I just had to stand up there

And yes, that's a Willys, the car we had while overseas.
Very cool! Thanks for posting!

This is the most wonderful thread, and of all of it copied this-

'Texas, for me, is a spiritual place.'

It is a place I will never forget and always love.

All of this appreciation for Texas is making me homesick (although I do not even live in Texas). I have been to Texas more than any state I have visited in my lifetime (Kansas, Missouri, New York, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas). I live in Oklahoma and I am saying that Texas is my home. That is how much love I have for Texas. It is the one state I can get away and feel refreshed, yet free.

It is so good to hear from you, Charlene, and I am glad that you enjoyed yourself in H-Town. I have only been to Houston about four times but I was only at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Nice and spacious airport but not as spacious as the DFW Airport.

What TexasGirl@Heart said, plus case44, Canine*Castle and dweej said and I'd just add the shade of a Mesquite tree, a breeze and a lazy river on a hot summer afternoon.

Welcome Texangirl@heart! You have made me really want a Shiners now! I finally had one whilst in Houston at the weekend after a 2 month wait from last time, and when I went to order my second they had run out! I should have got to the bar earlier!

Love all of those things you listed. Love San Antonio and Austin. I feel homesick like autotech says, even though Im not Texan. Hell, Im not even American! lol

I'll try to conjure up a John Wayne doing a Texas drawl...

Well, little darlin', we'll just make you an honorary Texan right here and right now. All you got to do hold up one hand, in a fist, with the index and little finger extended upward, thumb on the middle two fingers and swear the oath...
