Visitors maybe. Conventions, Dallas is far ahead, top 10 to Houston's top 30.

You are confusing Dallas with Fort Worth. Fort Worth is conservative cowboy country.

Dallas is modern, progressive, and liberal.

Haven't you figured it out? In the end, this will always end up being between Dallas and Houston, it always has been and always will be. The reason being is because these are the two chief cities in Texas. Nevermind SA's or Austin's explosive growth of cranes, Austin's high rise boom, or ability to get a reality show, Dallas VS Houston debates always seem to surface when talking about Texas. Houston is definitely not underrated in the Hip Hop community, but as far as Tourism or national recognition, it's very undemined.

Houston would be in the game if it marketed itself more. For Houston to claim itself as having the largest visitor's center in the country, it sure does a crappy job of getting the word out!

They rarely went to the beach in Boston or New Orleans. Besides, it's easy. Because MTV is trendy. Like it or not, Austin is also trendier to the other Texas cities according to non-Texans. Easy choice. This is why Atlanta maybe next.

Well since Sports teams are nothing but a franchise, i would say that makes them a business. True it's entertainement, but it only exists because it's a business first.

I think Houston should have a hockey team.

I don't and that goes for many other current Southern cities. I think Dallas is the most successful NHL franchise because of the amount of Midwesteners and Canadians moving down there. But the Florida teams, Carolina, Nashville, Phoenix, and Atlanta are not really known to have great attendance and Houston would probably be no exception.

Yeah, okay, there are just as many Midwesterners (especially Michigan) and Canadians (especially from Calgary/Alberta), moving to Houston as they are to Dallas.
