I don't know of a hospital in Brenham, but my uncle lives there and had bypass surgery at the hospital in College Station. I don't know about the medical services or how the hospitals are however.
IMPORTANT thing to keep in mind. you may definitely want to stay away from South Texas. malpractice rates are triple south of the Nueces River. you will find it is a litigious society down there. they love to sue. thank God i got out of there unscathed after one hellish year.
Excellent point.
In fact, if you're an obstetrician, you'll get sued just for thinking about working in the valley.
Hi, Welcome to Texas! I am a Realtor and live in Wood County Texas. ( Just North of Smith County where Tyler is lcoated). We have a small hospital (ETMC) in my town, Quitman Texas. Tyler is a wonderful town and very well described above! We travel to Tyler almost weekly to do various things or visit family south of the Tyler area. IF you want to live in a small town, there are plenty of great choices all around the Tyler area with a very small commute time. Lindale, Mineola, Quitman, are north of Tyler. South of Tyler would be Bullard, Mixon, Whitehouse. I homeschool my kids but there are also plenty of private school choices. Where I live traffic is never an issue! 5:00 pm, 8:00 am, doesn't matter! That's the joy of small town Texas!
AMAZING SKIDBOOT was from Quitman (oops edited to correct myself. he was from QUINLAN not QUITMAN, but not deleting this anyway because if yall aint seen this video, you need to!)

Check Midland. While not the most scenic, there are several good private schools, and a GREAT NEED for physicians of all specialties!
I was lured to Midland by health placement recruiters and this is my first month here. They mentioned of how I'll be paying off my 300k education loans before I know it, high patient demand, very little insurance patients,...........
At the office I'm at, that's not the case at all. There's almost no demand for elective procedures, about 80% has insurance ( half of them are capitation ), the staff turnover is high, the front office staff isn't efficient, and there's about a 30% patient no-show rate.
I know I've been here for only one month but I doubt there's going to be much eventual change. Reportedly, the Midland economy is doing well above-average and the statistic demographics do indeed favor medical professionals. As to whether you can personally witness them is another matter, I guess.
It's a good thing I still don't own a car and have no furniture in my apartment because I don't think I'll last in Midland for a long time.
hmmm...well yes it's a Level I Trauma Center....however, in terms of nursing care, it is not immune to the state of health care today, with understaffing. i am an RN and work with several fellow medical professionalse who recently had surgery there or were in the ICU, and unfortunately did not get attentive care. but it's not the fault of their nurses-it's the state of healthcare today.
