Nice dress is probably what will be typical, but nothing over the top like prom (which is almost always formals). Depending on where you are, you will see some of the girls in jeans, boots, and 'cowgirl' shirts, while others will be in goth-garb. Some will go to the football game and then on to the dance, so you can probably get a looksey at what everyone is wearing there.
Edit: Opps, you said JH...not sure if you have a game right before the dance in Jr High (like you usually do in HS).
