Obama's shady friends??? What about McCain being friends with G. Gordon Liddy, the Watergate burglar and domestic terrorist. McCain is friends with and associates with him to this day. What about McCain being involved in the Keating 5 and what about McCain's association with his own wife, who is a thief? She stole drugs from her own organization to feed her drug habit. McCain even voted against the Troop Funding Bill. We can go on and on about this "tit for tat". The thing to do is to get past the petty stuff.

Again, I voted for neither of them...

Thanks for the clarification, Terri. I think that one thing people aren't looking at when they are focusing on Obama's inexperience, is the fact that Obama will not be running this country on his own. He is a VERY intelligent man. He graduated Harvard Law school and taught Constitutional Law for 12 years. He has read the entire Federalist Papers. So, we know that he will have respect for our Constitution and not disrespect it as has been done in the last 8 years. He has already surrounded himself with some of the top minds in government, both republican and democrat. These people will help him run the country. No president ever runs the country on their own. That being said, his lack of experience will be filled with those around him and together they will get this country back on its feet. McCain and Palin have disgraced themselves, running a campaign full of lies and hate. Even one of McCain's advisors have jumped sides and has voted early, for Obama. 130 Newspapers, who previously supported the republicans, including the Houston Chronicle, have now switched sides and are supporting Obama. These are people who were staunch republicans and have done their research. They KNOW which candidate is going to get this country back on its feet. A lot of people will not be voting for Obama out of fear. Fear that has been ingrained through scare tactics, lies and lack of research into the truth. They will be voting for McCain, no matter what. On the other hand, those who have done their research will know the right choice for this country. God Bless American...land that I love.

if i were active duty, then yes, i would say that.
but of course i want what is best for the country.
i am willing to continue to pay the big bucks for my own health insurance rather than have Obama come in and socialize medicine, raise our taxes to support government funded healthcare etc...
i pay 400 bucks a month. though it's alot, i will be GLAD to, as long as a Republican stays as Commander in Chief

Some people do not have big bucks to pay for insurance...so a lot of
people just have to do without...I would rather pay for health insurance
for people of this country than fund a neverending war...America has
the biggest deficit ever...if left in the republican mindset for the next
four years....we won't be able to fund a damn thing for anyone!

So, you say Obama will raise "our" taxes to pay for socialized medicine. First of all, the "our" is not me or you as we make less than $250K a year (well, at least I do). Second, you will still have a job as you're in the medical career field. Also, Commander in Chief refers to the President who is in charge of the military, not passing laws and raising taxes, that's the Legislative branch.
BTW: You might take a look at the "i" key on your keyboard...it's stuck on lower case.

i dont want to work in the civilian world. i want to continue to work for the military, so that is why i have a vested interest in ensuring that the defense budget aint cut.
no, it's not stuck on lower case. this is informal writing. i don't feel the need to have to pay attention to detail on whether i capitalize properly. is that really important?

Well, it does grate on those who care about the state of education in our country at the moment. I don't even use lower case where caps are appropriate when texting - I go to the extra trouble to do it right and spell out words, especially after seeing how much damage has been done to the written language by people who think that texting IS actual spelling after they use the shortcuts a while.
All lower case is pretty much the same as all caps, in terms of difficulty of reading.

If all lower case makes it difficult to read, then I will take the extra effort to capitalize appropriately. In terms of the state of education in our country, believe me, if there is anyone who is disgusted with it, it is me. I was privileged enough to have my secondary education in the British school system in Tokyo Japan. I was taught very formal British Enlish, which included extensive teachingg on cursive writing etc. But I am so thankful to have turned out to be a redneck in small town Texas, where I don't have to worry about being judged by my level of education or lack thereof. I can relax, kick back, and in casual conversation, i don't have to use proper grammar....
Of course, when I am at work, I don't send emails to the Colonel using colloquial Texas tawk or all lower case writing etc....
Time and place for everything.
Starting to wonder why it is 'pick on me' day here! First post on page 4 of this thread:
quote[Great dont say anything to muah then The reason why I say it is because Ive been in convo with people on who there voting for and why so miss me with the that, good evening.]quote
Read above. I would think that THIS would have been much more annoying than my posting in all lower case! Must be pick on me day because I am not on the Obama wagon, or something!

I have intentionally stayed out of this thread topic until now. I always heard (and it made good sense) never work for a relative or close friend, or discuss politics or religion with them! LOL
But since everyone else is getting into it, and I am no shrinking violet in the least, I am going to vote. I will do like I have done for the past several elections. That is, vote "Constitutional Party."
I am neither a Republican nor Democrat. I am a Conservative (of the old States Right Jeffersonian variety), and neither Party much, anymore, reflects these principles. Only difference is one is more honest about being intent on bringing about a total welfare state. The other is the Stupid Party.
With that said though, I have NEVER been so scared over the outcome of a presidential election as I am this one. God help us if the outcome is what I fear this one is going to be...
