If he wins, I must really wonder about America's people.

Heh. That's the way many American's felt about Bush in 2004.

We survived Bush, we'll survive Obama.

It would be so refreshing if the candidates would, right to the bitter end, refrain from saying ANYTHING about their opponents and speak only to what they have to offer. It would be equally, if not more, refreshing if those who will be doing the voting would refrain from bashing not only their choice's opponent (while saying what it is about THEIR guy that makes them want to vote for him - that's the generic "him", by the way, including the feminine gender), but from feeling compelled to denigrate the intelligence of those who are making another choice for no doubt equally good reasons, to them.
The behavior of the candidates when they make it clear that all they've got to offer is "I'm not him", and the behavior of their supporters who seem to think that no one of any intelligence could make any choices that don't line up with their own, is enough to make one say, "A pox on both (or all) your houses!"

I must be different from a lot of you then, because I think part of what makes watching debates exciting is some good back and forth complete with pointing out some of the opponents bad points. I don't mean I want to see a fist fight or for it to get REAL ugly, but I'm sick of the blandness that these debates have had. Barak and McCain giving each other a hug and kiss and then being all syrupy and boring and beating to death the same two topics over and over and over....I did enjoy the Palin/Biden debate because there was a little more spunk to it.

We differ very much there, then, love roses. I am sick to death of the "mudslinging politics" that passes for political debate in politics. After all, one must consider that if one slings mud, one can't help but get mud on one's own hands. Debate is something else entirely, laying out the facts of the issues, not attacks on the character of your opponent or their supporters. The moment you do that, you've lost, because you don't have anything more substantive to offer, in my book.
Plus, I don't CARE what's bad about the other guy. If that's all you have to offer, or even most of what you have to offer, then you're not someone worth voting for, in my opinion.
As for deciding that anyone who votes differently than you must be a moron, or misled, or whatever bad characteristics that people love to throw at those who vote differently, if your decisions and opinions can't stand on their own without that, and have to be shored up with that kind of thinking about anyone who decides differently, they're pretty weak.

If you're supporting McCain, do you think you need to vote?
If you're supporing Obama, does he have a chance in Texas?

I hope with all my power that you are dead wrong that some Texans will continue to vote to destroy the US via the republican party!
We have a chance to undo the damage the Bush family and it's paramours have inflicked on this country by staying away from that stigma.
McCain is way too close to Bush to even be considered, in my opinion.
Heaven forbid, hockey mom, with her misinformation, wrong conclusions, and her hopes of becoming "the next president".... need I say more?
I will vote for a chance for this country. I will be supporting Mr. Obama.

I know that a lot of people are upset about Obama's Muslim background....but my Mother
said that it was a big deal when Kennedy was voted in because he was a Catholic...I
don't think that Obama's faith will trickle down and turn us all into Muslims...I am a
Baptist of all things...we don't turn too easily.... haha

It's not a big deal like Kennedy; nowhere close. It's just a lie that most people ignore, it obviously doesn't have any impact on the voters. The difference is Kennedy was actually Catholic, Obama is NOT (for the umpteenth time) Muslim.

The economy...we don't know how that would have turned out either. All people are doing are screaming that it's Bush's fault. Personally, I'm thrilled for the security I feel for our nation. I haven't been effected by the economy. I have friend who just recently (on paper) lost $170,00. She's freaking, but her main goal in life is money and how much she has in comparison to her friends. The battle between the Jones' never ends.

The funny thing is that Obama is the Dem. version of GWB! A youngish, under-the-radar candidate who has personal appeal and charm to woo the masses. The media is glossing over the apparent problems with Obama, just like they did GWB! (Let's face it, folks. GWB left Texas in debt and was a pretty big spender here. The media ignored that -- and look what he did in Washington!)
I've been saying this for a very long time. And I laughed when McCain FINALLY started comparing Obama to Bush, because it's true!!!! So those who think they're being "bold" by voting for a Democrat are actually voting for another Bush, just a very liberal one. The masses are voting for Obama because they perceive him as fresh, hip and a "uniter"; they voted for Bush because he was fresh, folksy, and a "uniter."
