Question Relocation-Moving to TEXAS Need Info

Hello everyone, I need to move to Texas in next 2 months. Got new job in Fort Worth. My new job is located near I-35 and south of 820 loop

So I am thinking I may live in either Fort Worth or Arlington

Never been those areas before. I am starting to look to rent a apartment and wondering if anyone could recommend some nice neighborhoods and apartments with zip codes

By the way, my budget range is in $500-600 and could anyone recommend the utilities(cable, internet, and electricity)
And any places I need to avoid...for a single female

Thank You

I'm not sure there are many posters from Fort Worth on here but I'll give it a shot. First, you'll want to be sure to call it I-35W as in west. There is an east route that goes thru downtown Dallas. They separate down around Hillsboro and reconnect at Denton. If you told me you lived near I-35, I'd naturally assume you were in Dallas. Check ZipCodes here.

Now, go to Travel Texas and get your FREE FREE FREE travel guide. Comes with a map of Texas. It's FREE.

I'd say head towards the Hulen St. area. Looks like the zips are 76123 and 76132. There's a mall at 820 and Hulen St runs south from there. So you might have something like an east/west drive for work. I haven't been in that area for many years but was an attractive neighborhood at the time. For a 500-600 bucks a month you're gonna have to do some shopping to get an apt, electric/cable/etc.

The local phone service is ATT and you might be able to get ATT U-verse (TV and Internet) but you'll need to verify that with ATT.

The most wide spread cable in the area is TimeWarner and you can get Internet and VoIP telephony with that.

Or you can use a cell phone and a third party Internet provider and satellite TV. Your options to consider.

The usual electricity provider is TXU. There are some competitors but I don't know who they are. You'll want to get a rate that will be some cents per kilowat hour. Like 10cents per kwhour but probly more. And it'll be a contract basis. Contact your current provider and find out how much you or your parents are paying now. It gets really hot in the summer so you'll be using the AC a lot. Like, over a hundred bucks a month... maybe a lot over. But October to May can be fairly mild with some wintery days.

Hopefully someone with more precise info will come along to help more.

Good luck, welcome to Texas.

for electricity go to www.powertochoose.com, input the zip code for where you will live and it will list all electrical carriers that can provide you electricity and what it will cost per kilo watt hour.
