Fort Worth's core will always be unique. Can't do much about the sprawl on the north and southwest sides.

unfortunately it is rare to keep your identity with growth of any kind (large or small).

Places change, life goes on.

King Williams District used to be a flourishing German District, not there isn't much German influence left.

Why do y'all even care about Fort Worth Surpaasing Dallas, this is the reason Dallas and Fort Worth Got together and made DFW they wanted to stop competition and plus they go very good together Dallas has A great skyline and more businesses while Ft Worrh has the cowboy wild west culture and have plans on becoming More Urbanized and I think if both cities grow at a steady rate yes Ft Worth can pass Dallas but in a loooong time, if Dallas boost there growth rate then no Fort Worth cant pass them but remember that Fort Worth is one of USAs fastest growing cities number six I believe

Yes it can but Fort Worth will need to annex more land for this to happen sooner than later. As it stands Dallas land area is larger. If Fort Worth keeps its current land area it will have to play catch up by becoming denser than Dallas for a long time.

Well, that's the advantage Fort Worth has.... there's PLENTY of land to annex. Personally, I'd like to stop that or at least hold it off for a while and I know I'm not the only Fort Worthian who thinks this.

It's like I've said, focus on the CORE of the city. There's still plenty of open land just within the city limits, close to downtown that can be filled or redevoloped.

I live in Ft. Worth in a subdivision by Alliance Airport called Heritage Trace. Far North Fort Worth is just a big suburb, the growth is happening there and not Fort Worth proper. I hate to say but Fort Worth is a backwords city. All this hubub about Sundance Square? Don't believe the hype, trust me. And the reason most people from Fort Worth hates Dallas downtown is because of all those black people in Dallas, Let's keep it real. Downtown Fort Worth is geared toward a different persuassion. Fort Worth surpassing Dallas is a pipe dream, The question should be will Arlington surpass Fort Worth in population.

You're talking to OTHER Fort Worthians who've lived here all their lives.

I can tell ya that I don't hate downtown Dallas, but I don't like to go there. Not because of "all those black people" (last couple times I was there, I saw more WHITE faces than anything) but the ground level is very intimidating and doesn't feel like it was built for recreation/residential, just business. I will say it's more urban.... I mean, it's a bigger city so it's SUPPOSED to be. And downtown Dallas isn't as bad as people make it out, but I'll take Fort Worth's small city blocks and emphasis on ground level activity than any other.

On that note, I don't know who you are, or what you're doing here, but you're not gonna get any cool points by dissing a city you've probably only been in for a few years. All 23 years of MY life, Downtown/Sundance Square, Near Southside, West 7th and the Cultural District were pretty welcoming, so I don't know what's up with you.

P.S., you misspelled "backwards".
