Don't you guys think that most of Central and North Texas and the Hill Country are pretty much the same in terrain? I do. There are some differences but not all that many.

If you drive the rural areas around DFW, and then down Ranch Road 1431 from Round Rock to Marble Falls, they are completely different. That part of the hill country has a lot more trees/greenery than N TX, and with much steeper hills. In a wet year this area can be as green, if not greener than NE TX.

If you're looking at say, Brenham to Elgin vs. that part of N TX, there is more similarity. Blah for the most part.

Around May/June many parts just south of DFW look a bit like SE TX in many spots: Flat land with green grass & deciduous trees shorter than the power lines. But deeper into the summer, N TX grass turns yellow/brown.

As many times as I've been to Glen Rose, I'm surprised that isn't part of the Texas Hill Country. In my opinion, I think it should extend up from Burnet to there.

And you can never go wrong with Longhorn pics. Great farmlands and plains in the backdrops.

Yes, that's true about Glen Rose. They say that Bosque County (Meridian to be exact) begins the Hill Country and I agree with that. The areas are very comparable in my opinion.

I actually have a fold-up map of the Hill Country, and surprisingly, it stops at Burnet. Maybe we should pass a law to change that, but that's another thread for another day.

If you've got more pics of our great stateside, bring 'em!

The BIG CITY of Holliday, Texas, this is my kind of city life right here.. I believe this photo was actully taken during 5:00 rush hour so that should explain the heavy traffic in the photo.
