I remember TSN the way it used to be, with the little electronic blips going to and coming from commercial breaks. That was really cool.
Looking at today, I'm a little dismayed at the shape radio is in today, what with corporate entities changing formats to fit
their bottom line rather than the needs and demands of listeners, and laying off so many people, including many on-air personalities. In Houston, there's getting to be even less variety on the airwaves, as now there is no station for oldies rock (107.5 changed from 60s-70s rock/pop to classic rock). KTRH (740) has nearly no local news anymore except for their morning blocs, and KPRC (950) doesn't exist as we know it anymore (well, for
now, anyway). And Houston's only AM local news choices
now?? KSEV (700) and KNTH (1070). Not a good sign.
And in Dallas, it's the end of an era at KRLD (1080) with Brad Barton being let go after 31 years at the station.

He was such a hit with listeners and is best known for Metroplex weather coverage, but that's all over now. And you've also seen some shakeups at a number of your favorite stations in a number of places. The economy has clearly not been kind to the broadcasting industry.
In addition, the Metroplex, Lubbock, and Houston have all added more sports offerings in the last several months.
