Default Which counties are the most "RED" in Texas?

I would like to know which counties are the most "RED" in Texas?

I had read on another forum that two of them that were over 90 percent Republican were found in the far north Panhandle.

I would really like to find out so I can consider moving there someday, especially if 1) Austin liberalism starts creeping up this far north and/or
2) i lose my job with the military thanks to Obama's cuts to the defense budget

Looks like Glasscock County out between San Angelo and Odessa with 91% Republican. Unfortunately, they have no hospital for you to work at! You could always become a sheep rancher or an oilfield roughneck...they have those jobs!

Belle I wouldn't be too worried about it. With the 2-party system you can pretty much guarantee the pendulum effect. Just like the GOP, the Dems will get drunk with power, bungle a bunch of stuff, tick off the electorate and be out on their rear ends in 2-4 years.

Not sure if this is an accurate way to look at it. You're looking at what's happened at the federal level. I don't think you can shield yourself by simply moving to the reddest county in the state.

If you're a nurse, what would it matter if you lose your job with the military? You'd be in high demand no matter where you go.

The very, very far NW part of the Panhandle did go up to 92% in some counties, but you have to consider that it is so ISOLATED up there, and most of the towns are tiny!! Are you still in Coryell county? I was surprised to see it at 66%, and I was even more shocked to see Midland county at 78%. That town was once the core of Texas Republicanism. I guess the influx of outsiders and illegal aliens has had an effect (yep, corrupt voting, etc)!

I very well understand your feelings. I have been considering packing it all in here and moving to a town that is not so dependent on the military, but....I love it here, so I'm going to sit it out for awhile and see what develops. I don't think there is really an escape for the creeping socialism/liberalism/marxism that is taking over the United States.

As another poster pointed out, I have no doubt that the dims will f***up big time with their social programs that don't work. Taking from those who work/earn/save and giving to breeders and freeloaders who live off the welfare t*t of the government SHOULD engender a huge backlash.

not all hispanics all democrats, as a matter of fact, hispanics consist of the fastest growing sector of republicans.

Nope..I am in Lampasas County. 74% voted for McCain. woohoo!
The reason why Coryell County has only 66% is because of Copperas Cove..i bet if it only included Gatesville and the towns surrounding it, it would be much higher!
