Okay, I said no politics on this thread. You've got other things to be thankful for, so we'd much rather hear those. No attacks here, please!!

We're not too far above you in temperature today. The low in Dallas this morning was 43 degrees. It's 51 degrees right now with 22 mph winds and gusts up to 40mph. The high today was 54. We're just getting YOUR cold front but I'm not complaining; I love it. If it weren't for it being so windy, it would be perfect.

I'm thankful for:

1. My entire great family.
2. That my daughter pulled through like a trooper after her first severe asthma attack and hospital stay. I've never been so scared in my life!
3. This great weather, and God has blessed us with a pretty good garden this year. I just pulled off 2 containers of tomatoes this morning.
4. That I woke up on this side of the dirt this morning. I had a client say that to me once when I was complaining about something to her. She said "I look at it this way when things go bad for me...At least I'm on this side of the dirt"
5. That even though it bit that my husbands truck was stolen (later found abandoned at a truck stop near El Campo and had a strange trailer attached to it that had been used to transport drugs) it oddly worked out to be a blessing in a way because now he is working as an employee at his previous company and is going to be getting benefits that we so badly need. Plus, the insurance settlement was huge and we can use it to pay off some debt and possibly find him a newer, better truck so he can be an owner/operator again.
6. I found some old classmates again and we are actually still keeping in touch.
7. A great boss and job, even if it is part time
8. I still get to be a stay at home mom even after my husbands truck was stolen.
9. Even though my niece swallowed a whole piece of candy while jumping on our trampoline, that it didn't stick in her throat and choke her while she was under my watch. She's already been stung by a bee(she's allergic to ant stings, so we had to watch her close) and gave herself a hair cut at my house. That would have been the cherry on top for sure.
10. that we haven't really been affected at all by the financial mess on wall street. I guess I'm glad my husband being a penny pincher isn't all that bad after all

We can be thankful for changing seasons, can we? I think we can.

Yeah, it is amazing how nice 50 can feel when the wind is calm as opposed to how cold it can be when the gusts are howling at 40 mph. The wind has a way of biting your skin, lol. (wind chill). If it's two more falls and winters of Oklahoma I have to deal with, then I can part with it.

Very good post and a great list, too. Lots of events going on in your life, but you've made it through. And I'm also thankful for Texas' good economy and how fortunate we've really been.
