Gay-friendliest areas of Texas?
Outside of inner loop Houston, Dallas, and Austin?
Are there many gay friendly suburbs or other towns?
I'm defining "gay friendly" to mean it's no big deal to openly hold hands with same-sex, adopt a kid, etc. Not "don't ask don't tell," that soft but cruel form of bigotry.

I can't really think of any part of Dallas where two men / women holding hands or with a kid would be looked on oddly.
Making out hot and heavy, yes, but that would be for anybody.
But the traditionally "gay area" of Dallas is Oak Lawn / Cedar Springs area.

Most of the "gay" areas in San Antonio are inside the loop. But I would venture to say that a gay couple would not be discriminated against or looked down on in any suburb of San Antonio.
Holding hands or showing a "normal" sign of affection is not outlandish anymore. I mean a light kiss or hug or peck on the cheek.
That goes for any couple...straight or gay. It's the ones who do the heavy making out that are stared at and complained about in any situation that is public.
I live in San Antonio, so that's the only place I have an opinion.

For Houston, you mean the Inner Loop. Montrose area is the main drag place in Houston, although pretty much anywhere in the city it's no major deal. Heavy PDA, whether straight or gay, is tacky. Austin, Wimberly, Georgetown, Round Rock (I've seen gay male couples there numerous times...not too many females). Dallas is pretty gay friendly.

Gay friendly suburbs
Four gay friendly Texas suburbs right off the top of my head would be Anna, Paris, Honey Grove, and Detroit. They are all north of Dallas. Hope this helps.

I just really don't think, in any major city (excluding some ultra-conservative small towns), that anyone will really care if you are gay or straight or whatever.
Of course, I am not gay, so maybe I am way off-base. But I know that for me and the people I see on a regular basis, nobody cares. Too much other stuff to be worried about.

I was going to ask if this was a joke, then I saw your user name, and that pretty much settled it.
Thanks for the chuckle.

Pretentious exacty...pretending to be cosmopolitan & metropolitan that is.
Dallas likes to gloat like no other city. It tries even harder than LA to be like LA.
Oh & Houston is still more Liberal than Dallas, it always has been.
