Default Texas Monthly The 40 Best Small-Town Cafes

Anyone get the latest Texas Monthly? It has "The 40 Best Small-Town Cafes." I am so dissapponinted, I have only been to two of the Top 40, and 1 of the honorable mentions.

Texas Monthly: the National Magazine of Texas

I need to get a Texas map and a list.

I saw that! Can't let my husband see it, though, or he'd be sitting down planning an itinerary for the next 6 months!

My grandparents live in Medina Texas! Really, you must check out the apple store's ice cream if you have a chance. It is to die for. Get some to go!

That apple place in Medina is awesome. I had some sort of hamburger with jalapenos in the patty on a sourdough bun - VERY VERY tasty.

Yes, I have the issue and am enjoying the article. My local Lampasas Yumm Factory is listed. Great chicken fried steak.

OH yes, that apple ice cream was very good. We stopped there over the summer when we decided to take a road trip up to Fredericksburg.

Dang. Can't read the rest of the online article, as I'm no longer a subscriber, LOL!!

I still take Texas Highways, but dropped TM quite awhile back when I still lived in Midland.

It's just gotten so URBAN.

ETA: The map itself listed the favorites, and I could see all of those.... :-)

There is a way that yoou can register on the on-line version. I've did it awhile back. I logged in to the online version and it has most if not all of the article.

I only buy TM whan it has interesting articles.

That's what I started doing after my subscription ran out. I always buy the Bum Steer issue in January, though. That always cracks me up.

They had a good issue a year or two ago that told about Texas' best Taquerias!!

I read my copy on the plane on the way to Orlando last week. Had me craving CFS, mashed potatoes, homemade pies and all the ENTIRE week and still now that I'm back. Good thing for my waistband that I'm not close enough to any of those places listed to hit it for lunch. DARNIT! But still cravin some CFS and chicken n dumplings.
