I honestly hope Waco can support a high end hotel in this economy. Maybe after they build it the old saying, "if you build it, they will come", and all of Rick Sheldons visions can be built, plus more.
To get back on topic, I still think Waco does have a "country town" mentality, Hopefully after all this development our 125,000 citizens and 50,000 suburban citizens will wake up and realize this and attitudes will change.

Well you got the H.O.T,Conventions, Baylor games, and concerts. I think it could support it. Conventions bring in I believe more than 400,000 people a year.

Have you seen any design plans for the Indigo? I wonder if it'll be a multi-story building? It would be nice if it was 10 or more floors!

Did you see the video of the future downtown Waco? I think it shows the design, but I'm not sure.

The only multi-story building that caught my attention is one that would be where the TXU substation is at MLK @ I-35 (behind Buzzard Billys), and they just mentioned a resort, no names. Besides that location doesnt match where Indigo is supposed to be....(Webster @ 2nd).

Outside of the fact that Waco doesn't have public transportation, 5-star restaurants, highly regarded museums, Fortune 500 corporate headquarters, skyscrapers built within the last 50 years, light rail, major league sports teams, world-class shopping, vibrant nightlife, and high-end neighborhoods, it's exactly like Dallas and Houston.

You made yourself sound pretty stupid considering the facts that Waco has a population of only 122k. I was talking about the fact that for its size, Waco is not country. Houston and Dallas are considered country in the north, but to us they aren't country. Also Waco has BRT, it sucks but it is still some type of public transit. Lets not even get started on the millionaires who seem to be drawn to Waco. The nightlife is also good considering the fact that Waco is a small city compared to Houston and Dallas [I guess "Girls Gone Wild" only come to lame boring country towns]. Nice try, but your argument is weak.
Some things this country town has:
http://www.shopsofriversquarecenter.com/
http://www.cameronparkzoo.com/
http://www.wildwestwaco.com/
http://www.baylor.edu/
