Gomez Tex-Mex Cafe in Brownwood (Lubbock, Comanche: middle school, camping, live in)

Hi-
I've been to Brownwood once back in Feb. 2006. Unfortunately, I was not able to make it to Gomez's which was recommended to me in 2004/2005 by a friend from Lubbock (Crosbyton) and the alma mater dear, Texas Tech.

A friend of a friend's parents live in Comanche, TX & we are considering getting some Gomez's some time.

Any views on Gomez's best menu item(s)?

Don't bother. It's more of a truck stop. Only locals who haven't experienced better food enjoy it. If you are still prevailed to go I think it would be more important to think on what you will drink than eat. Food will be more tolerable if you are drunk.

Don't know about Gomez but do know about Underwood's in Brownwood....some of the best BBQ in West Texas.

Hi everyone. My husband has recieved a job offer for an RN position at the hospital in Brownwood. We are considering the move from SW FLorida to Brownwood but have several major concerns.

Our two girls are 10 and 14, and they are both very bright. They are both in accelerated programs at their schools here. We want to be sure they have access to a great education, they would be entering middle school and high school. Can anyone tell me their experience with the local school system?

We would also be wondering about youth resources, activities, etc..

My husband is curious if anyone has experience working at the hospital, especially as a floor nurse. He would like to know what their work experience has been (is the hospital well run, is it a good place to work?)

My husband and I are laid back people, not interested in nightlife. We enjoy hiking, camping, and other outdoor family oriented activities. We are interested in a wholesome place to raise these kids. Thanks.
