Texans are proud of their state more than any other state in my opinion. I've never known such pride. Have an aunt\ uncle in Canyon TX who now have slight Texan accents. I think the negative feelings toward Texas are more political. Bush & the people he brought to DC w/ him have given Texas a black eye. Also too many evangelicals

Too many evangelicals? Some of the biggest churches in America are right there in your area.

Both would be great cities for the olympics. But I do believe Rio gets it. I think the IOC wants to go to South America for the first time in a long time (if ever).

Just because you don't know much about it does not mean the rest of the world doesn't. San Francisco does not overshadow Chicago whatsover.

Is this why Chicago is known as an alpha city while Houston is known as a gamma city? Business wise, Chicago is one of the most popular cities in the world. Alpha city meaning full service world city while Houston is known as a minor world city? Oh and San Francisco? It's a beta city which is a major world city.
Guess what are the three largest markets in the nation? It's NY, LA, and Chicago and it's not really even close. We have given you links supporting why Chicago is on a higher level than Houston. Did you care to visit them?

Spade, they think their opinions are more reliable than any facts and insightful studies out there. It's O.K. We should not expect everyone has the knowledge like you.

Chicago just has more history, but that dosen't automatically place it light years ahead of Houston as you people make it seem. You people need to get ahead of times and quit thinking Chicago is still America's second largest city, it has been replaced by LA for over 10 years now.

And --- with the response above, I believe we finally have an answer to the question of this thread. Time to close it.

I live in the real world with people who don't think like us. Go around the south and the west and ask what is the 5 biggest cities in America, I bet the majority of them will place SF above Chicago. Houston probably wouldn't even be mentioned by the ones outside of the south. Go to foreign cities, they'll probably say NYC,LA,BOSTON,SF, AND Miami.
