Trying to find house for RENT in Kilgore area...
...without much success.
I'm coming from the East Coast with four kids in tow, so I need to make arrangements ASAP but I'm having zero luck with the internet. For a Jr. College town, there's really not much of a web presence.
Are there any local rental property companies that have a website or listings? I hate to seem so picky, but I really need something in the immediate Kilgore area.
I would appreciate any help ya'll can offer...

I assume that most house rentals in this area are advertised using the "sign on the lawn" technique, because I've never seen a place with so little advertised via the internet and I know there are more places for rent than what I've found.

I'm having difficulty believing that there are only three or four homes in the entire Kilgore area for rent. I am aware that the rural small towns of East Texas aren't as internet-friendly as other areas I've lived, so I'm thinking that there's little I'll be able to actually accomplish until I'm there in person.
Again, thanks...

Have you checked craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums
When we moved from the DFW area over a year ago....people didn't know what it was...but now it's become popular.

You also may want to try the Henderson area, it is not too far away from Kilgore.

Hello:
I live in the area and I wish you best of luck. Hope you bring money for motel room, cause it may take you some time. Looking on the Internet for housing, this area hasn't caught up to that. You may have to rely on local papers and the yellow page phone book to find listings to real estate companies. Longview is 30 minutes from Kilgore and there will be more options.
I'm living with my ex husband and I don't like it. Began looking on the Internet myself, cause it is right at my finger tips. I did find a few apartment listing I think it was Apartment.com or one of those, but I make very small income and I am still in job search so as to hopefully make the income I once did to live on my own again. However, I am limited at present to what I can afford, but I search just the same and I have come up that when the time comes, it will be local papers and word of mouth that will help me locate a place to live.
And I am thinking the same for you...Kilgore is a nice little town. You'll like it there I'm sure...White Oak though if you are looking for upper class or Lake Cherokee community on Longview, 20 minute drive time to Kilgore, on FM roads.
